Review: Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Ecstasy Untamed
by Pamela Palmer
(Feral Warriors # 6)

I don't think I can write a review for this book without first saying something about the cover, because, lets face it. I love Paul Marron as much as the next girl but this cover was a big miss. He looks like a lost puppy floating in a sea of hot pink. Not so hot.

Now that I got that off my chest, on to the book. I admit I haven't read the previous books in the series, but when given the opportunity to read an ARC for this book I jumped on it to see what the series was all about. I was not completely lost! Even though the world is still complex, I could figure out things pretty quickly.

So not knowing much of Hawke's past, he basically ended up in a spirit trap that had affected his animal side and there is hardly any connection between human and animal anymore, and he is lucky to have come out of that alive.

Now the Feral House, home of all Feral Warriors, is inducting a new Warrior to replace Fox. And he comes with a mate. After knowing Maxim for just about a day, Faith has moved across the world because she feels the pull of a mate bond. Except, shouldn't your mate be the person most suited for you? Maxim is an arrogant ass, has no respect for Faith or her feelings and as the book progresses I couldn't help but just feel disgusted and sickened by him.

Faith and Hawke are perfect for each other, their attraction is immediate, they're both loving and fun to be around. But Faith feels she has to fight the attraction because she's only there to be Maxim's mate. And how will Hawke be able to deal with having the woman he wants living under the same roof and belonging to someone else?

The first half of the book I felt was a bit slow, as most of the plot happened at Feral House and without a lot of action. Once the bigger plot develops, the story flowed much better.

There's plenty of story options from here! I'm excited to go back and read the previous books as well as future books.

  1. My review for this book is not up yet, but I can say that I felt just like you.

Picked this one from netgalley without reading anyone in the series and loved this one and can't wait for the rest off them.

The story is complex but everything was very easy to understend.

    Great little book.

  3. Yah! Pink cover with brawny man skipping across didn't grab me either, but I do love this series and can't wait to see how this one comes out.

    Thanks for reviewing.

  5. Thanks for the very clear review. I totally agree that this cover was so not a Feral cover and poor Paul :) But I love the other covers. Thanks again.
