Review: The Twisted Kiss by Anya Bast

The Twisted Kiss
by Anya Bast
(Doomsyear # 1)

A couple of things you should know.  Hard as try to read get to read Ms. Bast's books, I was still an Anya Bast virgin.  This was my first book by her.  Result?  I love her writing and I'm now kicking myself that I didn't get to start reading her sooner.  Will remedy this very soon.  I am not much for post-apocalyptic stories, however lately there's been a lot of pretty good ones come out, especially when there's this much romance.  Actually, this was almost more a paranormal erotic romance.  Because ohhhh boy was it hot!

But first let me tell you about the story.  Government experiment gone wrong, virus that kills most of the human population, some humans survive, some are forced to be turned into vampires of werewolves.  The few humans still alive don't really go into supe territory.  Except there this one girl that has lived among them pretty much her whole life, Kiley.  She now own the vampire bar in town.

She wakes up one day to the news that the supernatural council, that consists of seers and oracles that have been somewhat of matchmakers, determined that she is to mate Michael, a vampire, and Christian, a werewolf.  Now, how lucky can a girl be?

But because of her past she doesn't want a man, she feels that she already affected the life of her first love by turning him into a monster.  Now Michael and Christian, who have wanted her for years, have to prove to her that they are soul mates.  And when they both set to wooing, together and apart, there are major sparks and heat flying off the pages.  HOT HOT HOT!

I am looking forward to more stories in this series, I'm sure her best friend will get one and I can't wait to read about her and the werewolf alpha (at least I'm hoping)!

  1. You had me in the first paragraph of your review. I love these type of stories and if it is more erotic than just romance well that works for me too.

Thanks for the great review! :)

  2. I haven't read this author yet either. This book sounds pretty interesting with the romance interest and the dystopic world stuff.

    Thanks for the share!
