Review: Noah by Elizabeth Reyes

Noah
by Elizabeth Reye
5th Street #1
3.5 Feathers

Veronica's life got put on hold when she started taking care of her ailing mother, but now her mother has died and all she seems to be left with is grief, 40 extra pounds and most her friends and her boyfriend gone. But her best friend decides she needs a push and gets her a free weeks membership at the 5th Street gym, where she meets Noah, her 20 year old trainer. They form a deep friendship, but Noah realizes he wants more from her, and he tries persuade the cautious Veronica that age is just number and that the 8 years between them mean nothing.

This is my first read by Elizabeth Reyes but it definitely won't be my last, I really enjoyed this sweet love story. The main reason I liked this book was because I found it impossible to not fall in love with Noah, he was not only gorgeous with more muscles then you can shake a stick at, but also thoughtful and caring; the perfect guy, I have no idea how Veronica managed to resist him for so long.

The only aspect of the book I found annoying was the pace, it was a little slow and it took them far too long to get together. Although I could understand her concerns regarding their age, I just found her worrying boring and repeatative in places.

But the writing was good, and I like the cast of characters that Ms Reyes has created, including Veronica's best friend and Noah's group of friends from the gym, and I can't wait to read more about them.
