Author Override: Britt Bury

Author Override is the place where authors take the reins and take you on a journey into their world. Some may allow you into their private writing dens. Others may take you along with them on research trips or interviews. Whatever the case may be, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride because here you’ll get an in-depth look into an author’s musings.

ALL-CONSUMING DESIRE . . .

Izel Campbell was raised to believe she is an immortal Fionn with the magical skills of persuasion. But when she travels to Scotland to visit her ancestral home, Izel discovers that she is actually the world's last living human. Forced to run for her life, Izel crosses paths with Kelvin Kerr, the Campbells' greatest foe-and the most magnificent warrior she has ever seen.

BURNS BRIGHTEST . . .

A thousand-year-old battle chief of the Kerr clan, Kelvin lives only to avenge his father, who died at the hands of the bloody Campbells. Honor demands he kill the Campbell heir, but when he learns that the lovely Izel is both Campbell and human, Kelvin is torn between duty and desire . . .

ON THE DARKEST DAY

Ava and Lorna MacAvoy, sisters and immortal Fionns from The Darkest Day talk about their summer vacation…Kind of…

Ava: What did I do on my summer vacation? Good question. I mostly tried to ditch a psycho stalker who apparently doesn’t understand what, “F**k off,” means. Seriously, where do these creepers come from?

Lorna: Creeper? Is this the same guy you were blabbing about last night? Going on and on about his eyes and his hair and his abs… *Lorna gazes at the sky and mockingly twirls a lock of hair around her finger and talks in a high pitched voice* Oh, he’s just so dark and dreamy and I love him and bla, bla, gag me, bla.

Ava: First of all, I don’t sound like that. Second of all, this is all Izel’s fault. If she was here, I would have someone to hang out with and not have to resort to entertaining hot strangers.

Lorna: Ha! You just said he was hot!

Ava: Crap.

Lorna: And what do you mean you have no one to hang out with? *Lorna motions her hands at herself* Hello, you have me.

Ava: *Ava rolls her eyes* Yeah. But you’re too opinionated.

Lorna: Hey, it’s not my fault Izel has no emotions.

Ava: God, you make her sound like such a bizzo.

Lorna: You know what I mean. The girl literally doesn’t feel emotions.

Ava: *Ava mumbles* Must be nice.

Lorna: *Lorna shoots a big smile at her* Look at you all whiny. You missin’ you stalker boyfriend there, Ava?

Ava: He’s not my boyfriend and how can someone not miss him? He’s frickin’ seven feet tall.
Lorna: And all muscles *Lorna winks*

Ava: *Ava bites her bottom lip to keep from grinning* Yeah…he is pretty strong.

Lorna: *Lorna checks her watch* Well, I’d love to stay and chat about how you *Lorna air quotes while speaking* ‘don’t-like-but-really-like-but-won’t-admit-it-because-you’re-a-dumbass,’ stalker hottie guy, but I’ve got a job to do.

Ava: *Ava waves her away* Yeah, yeah, go work your magic. Persuade some poor fool out of his life savings.

Lorna: *Lorna blows a kiss* Oh, honey. I’m going for much bigger fish this time.
