Review: Beauty Dates the Beast by Jessica Sims

Beauty Dates the Beast
by Jessica Sims
(Midnight Liasions # 1)

If you are looking for a hot and funny paranormal to spark up your summer, then let me sell this book to you.  In a nutshell, Bathsheba is a human female working for a paranormal dating agency.  She takes the calls, meets with clients, sets up dating profiles and tries to arrange dates.  Her job description might have to extend to dating them when Beau calls in and his arranged date fell through and he needs someone stat.  After a few minutes on the phone with Bathsheba he decides he wants her...for a week.  Why?  Because he's a were-cougar going into heat!  Oh but of course the craziness in Bathsheba's life doesn't end there because her sister was turned into a werewolf a while back and she's been hiding that fact from others.  Now the werewolves want that lone wolf female and Beau might be her only protection.  Sound fun?

It was extremely entertaining and a pretty short read, actually.  I liked the fact that there was plenty of humor, even when it was a bit over the top.  And of course I can't help but mention the fact that Beau was pretty sexy and very controlling and possessive alpha male, which worked well for me.

Bathsheba might not be my favorite kind of heroine but I have to give it to her for doing everything in her power to protect her sister, even if that meant putting her whole life on hold and giving up on the one man she actually really wants to be with.

To be together they have to overcome some obstacles and learn to trust each other, but I can't complain about the getting there process either.  With plenty of things happening around them, lots of bad guys after them and plenty of sparks flying.  Had a great time reading it!
