ARC Review: The Gravedigger's Brawl by Abigail Roux

The Gravedigger's Brawl
by Abigail Roux

Abigail Roux is what I would call one of those “cracktastic” authors whose work simply lures you in and you’re pretty much done for. I love her Cut and Run series and decided, what the hell why not read this one too? In the end, I am so glad I did! THE GRAVEDIGGER’S BRAWL is the perfect read for Halloween. It’s kind of spooky and creepy yet has the main component that fans of Roux are looking for – an amazing, believable romance between two men.

Ash and Wyatt are fantastic together and their chemistry really leaps from the pages from the get-go. Roux has this signature way of creating inviting personalities that really catch a reader’s attention until you feel as if you’re good friends with the protagonist. Add in another charming and often sarcastic male lead and you’ve got a couple that I’m rooting for! Caleb, Noah, Delilah and Ryan are more great characters that really add to the already fantastic cast of characters.

But what really sets this book apart from other M/M romance out there is the focus on urban legends, hauntings and other paranormal happenings. I worried how I would like this, but Roux makes it easy to fall right in line with the rest of the characters. Not only were the urban legends interesting themselves, but they add to the overall ambience of this story, making for an atmosphere unique to THE GRAVEDIGGER’S BRAWL.

Roux takes a risk by stepping away from what she is known for but what makes her books so cracktastic are still very much evident in the way she is able to add humor and heart to her stories. I highly recommend this book for reader’s looking for something unique and fun.
