Caught Running
by Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux
I've been saying that I want to read these two for a while and then I saw this available on audio and just took a chance and snagged it up. Without looking at reviews, without even looking at the blurb. Her, look at the cover! It's a sports related m/m. All I need to now.
What I got was one of the sweetest stories I've read in a while. Perfectly developed and not without hurdles for the characters to go through. It had its sad moments and its hot moments and its funny moments. So enjoyable that I literally couldn't put it down. Even when I had review books with past due deadlines staring me in the face! I devoured this book, I lost sleep over this book so I could listen to just one more chapter.
Jake and Brandon went to high school together. Jake was the jock, football star. Brandon was the nerd. Their paths didn't cross then. Now they are both back in town, teaching at their old school. Brandon gets assigned to be an assistant coach for the baseball team, where Jake is the lead coach.
Jake has to deal with his injuries and physical ailments from pushing his body as much as he did when he was young. Brandon has to deal with having put on hold his dreams of what he really wanted to do. And they are both gay. Not in the closet 100%, just not openly to the people they deal with everyday at school.
While they have to fight their attraction because they don't know if the other is gay, they are just the cutest thing to watch. Jake has a very happy and upbeat personality and I think it complements Brandon's introverted side very well. But when Brandon lets loose he's a force to be reckoned with. All sexy prowling animal going for what he wants. Loved, loved, loved!

I love these authors, but haven't read this series either. You convinced me...bought! Thanks for the great review! smiles...
You're welcome. Oh I hope you enjoy it Christi! I haven't read about Ty and Zane yet, I have to get on that. And I don't *think* this one will be a series, just a standalone.
