Romancing the Hop Blog Hop - Aug 31 - Sep 3

Welcome to the Romancing the Hop Blog Hop, hostd by Carrie Ann Ryan.  This hop will run from August 31st - Sept 3rd and we are celebrating romance.

Our favorite part about reading a romance novel?  Being transported to another world whether it's populated by fierce, domineering vampires and shifters or traveling back in time, just the same as if it's set in our day to day world.  It's the magic of traveling to places and situations that don't normally exist in our lives.  And well yeah, we like it hot when we are there.

Of course we thought what better way to celebrate romance than to give you a bit of everything?

We've put together a prize that has some Harlequin romance with spice.  Harlequin's spicier books were one of the first introductions I had to reading anything erotic and the first real romances I read.  We have three titles up for grabs.

Rub It In by Kira Sinclair - Island Nights (Harlequin Blaze)
Jump Start by Lisa Renee Jones - Texas Hotzone (Harlequin Blaze)
Her Little Secret, His Hidden Heir by Heidi Betts - Billionaires and Babies (Harlequin Desire).  This one comes signed by the author and with SWAG

But because we couldn't leave the paranormal out and we couldn't decide on what to give, we are including 3 sampler books that have previews for the following books:
Dark Awakening by Kendra Leigh Castle
Lost by Caridad Piñeiro
Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione
Kiss of the Vampire by Cynthia Garner
Midnight Reckoning by Kendra Leigh Castle
Firelight by Kristen Callihan
Darkness Bound by Stella Cameron
Darkness Devours by Keri Arthur
Wicked Edge by Nina Bangs
Liquid Lies by Hanna Martine
Chaos Burning by Lauren Dane
Alpha Instinct by Katie Reus
Dire Needs by Stephanie Tyler
Eternal Kiss by Laura Wright
Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
Nightfall by Ellen Connor
A Touch of Crimson by Sylvia Day
Heart of Steel by Meljean Brook
Avenger's Angel by Heather Kilough-Walden
AND we are also including SWAG from Donna Grant, Kallypso Masters, Beth Williamson, Emma Lang, Gena Showalter and Jambrea Jones.

ONE WINNER. INTERNATIONAL.

To enter our giveaway, be sure to be a follower of this blog and just leave a comment on this post telling us what's your favorite thing about reading romance.  Be sure to leave your email address as well so we can contact you, otherwise we'll have to pick another winner if you're the lucky one.

By commenting on this post you will also be entering in the Grand Prize for this hop which consists of the following:
1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $130 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: A Large Swag Pack

This might sound a bit maudlin but to me my favorite thing about reading romance is the romance itself. There's so many ways to bring two characters together, so many obstacles and so many ways to tell a passionate story and that's my favorite thing, the wanting, the waiting and the eventual having between two characters :)

Well my favorite thing about reading romance is definitely the romance itself and the couple. Love how 2 characters are brought together, ups and downs of their relationship and their passion.

Thanks for the chance to win.

My favorite thing about reading romance is the romance itself, makes me want to swoon, feel flattered, blushing, even anger.
Read romance makes me feel like I'm riding a roller coaster. There are many ups and downs emotions while reading them, feel the characters passion, emotions, frustration, etc.
But one thing that I know from the very beginning when I read this genre is no matter how hard the obstacles could be -as long as the couple believe in each other, loyal, and love each other- love can conquer all..

Thanks for the giveaway ^^

My favorite thing about romance novels, is the romance itself. I just love reading how they fall in love, how usually the man denies it. How in some stories, they defy someone's family or one of the pair has to prove themselves to the other family.

I love reading romance because my love life is comfortable and comforting (15 years in, 2 kids), and reading romance reminds of me of when we were anxious younger people, bickering, and reminds me also to kick it up in the passion department. Plus - I just love to read!

I love the struggle of the romance and the heat when they finally figure it out! It's an escape from reality and you can go anywhere you want!

hmmm I love being able to be apart of a romance ....to be an outside observer to everything about it from that first meeting to the wooing to the part where they end up together (hopefully) ...I also like getting sucked in to the story and getting the chance to experience the feelings they experience and to just be apart of every part of the romance

I love that you can get lost in reading a romance and it's almost like you become the heroine. And it always leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy after the happy ending. Although I read them so much I think I have been forever ruined for real men because they will never measure up to my favorite romance heroes. lol

While some people crave money or fame, I have always hungered for the security and beauty of deep, true love. I have come to accept, at my age, that I will never experience it in my own life. But the yearning for this has only increased through the years and I read romance stories to appease that need as best as I can. And sometimes, I will read something so well crafted that it does just that if only for a little while.

Why I like Romance Novels….The reason I like Romance Novels so much is because it is one place where I can be anywhere like England, Scotland, Rome, Ireland, or anywhere in the US. I can also be in any time like 1200’s Scotland, 1500’s England, 1900’s Chicago. I can be anyone like a princess, a servant, a werewolf, a duchess, a vampire, or a lost soul. But no matter what I get the privilege and the experience to overcome many different obstacles and find love. I am a mother of three teenagers as well and there are many days when I need an escape and my heart needs a rest from the trials of being a parent and trying to do what is best for everyone but yourself. I have overcome cancer, loss, and financial problems and Romance Books let my heart soar and feel free. Let me tell you in this world, and during this time where life can have so many struggles it is great that you can be, have, and do so many things to find love and romance and still be yourself!
