Review: Doubletake by Rob Thurman

Doubletake
by Rob Thurman
(Cal Leandros # 7)

I love a good paranormal novel, however, I am new to Rob Thurman’s novels. I must say, though, that just from this one book, I am a new fan! Thurman shows strong talent in being able to create a novel that is gripping and complex, page-turning and edge-of-your-seat awesome.

Sadly, I’m coming into the story after missing so much from the first books in the series. But, that being said, I was still pulled into the heart of the story, following the amazing characters on their supernatural journey. I felt every twist and turn of the story, felt every emotion that was thrown at the reader.

Cal and his brother Niko, along with Robin, are characters that bring the story to life in a way that it’s like watching a movie. Seeing them battle their inner emotions, along with the complications that come with family, is amazing. There were times I wasn’t sure where I Cal began and I ended! I felt that much of a pull into his character. The way that Niko had to battle his turmoil was incredible! Robin’s character was also created wonderfully and while I felt a pull to him, it was nothing to the way Cal gripped me!

Filled with battles, mystery, and supernatural elements, this book is one fantastic roller coaster ride! I am now happy to say that Rob Thurman is on my list of must read authors, and the Cal Leandros series is at the top of my list to completely read. I am looking forward to going back and getting more of this supernatural thrilling adventure soon! Well done, Rob Thurman, for making me a fan (when it comes to non-werewolf paranormal novels, it takes a lot to get me hooked…but this book definitely did it!)

Rob is awesome!! She puts some twists and turns in her stories that you never see coming. I highly recommend her books. Her Trixa and Korsak Brothers are great too.
