Review: Wicked Werewolf Night by Lisa Renee Jones

Wicked Werewolf Night
by Lisa Renee Jones
(Alluring Tales: Night Moves # 6)
(Werewolf Society # 1)

I kind of wanted to read this series in order, although the stories are not related AT ALL.  But due to different release dates and who knows what caused them I'm not.  So I made a bit of a jump from book # 3 in this collection of short stories to # 6.

I've never read anything by this author before but I know I have some of her books on my never ending TBR and they come highly recommended so I was anxious to try out her writing style.  And I have to say I enjoyed it!  There was just enough bantering between the main characters and as always for short stories, I like that the hero and heroine had a previous relationship.

So we have Aylia, a witch that used to date a werewolf, Nico.  She believes he betrayed her before which is why they are not together now.  Also the fact that her coven is cursed and she needs to wear a necklace or she will die by a certain birthday, and he took the necklace.

If you have, like me, an addiction to sexy alpha males, then I can tell you will like Nico.  But he's also very sweet and loving when it comes to Aylia, even though she couldn't possibly be his mate because she's a witch.

This story, although short, was entertaining, had some action and plenty of sexyness!  I know there's plans to do a story for Kole, Nico's first in command, so I'm looking forward to reading that!

Review: Entangled in Darkness by Vivi Anna

Entangled in Darkness
by Vivi Anna
(Alluring Tales: Night Moves # 3)

Branlyn has stayed away from her home for fifteen years after the death of her parents. And during that time she's been having dreams about Thane.

When Thane finally tells her its time to come home she decides to be brave and face her past. Except there's more waiting for her home than just memories.

Who is really Thane and who is this Gregorian he swears to protect her from. Why does one come at dark and the other one during the day?

This story was a bit boring to me, I found myself skipping some. And since we are talking about spirits, then we only get dream or memory sex. So in that respect this has been the less erotic of this series. But at least the story makes sense, and it's short!

Did I already mention how much I love the covers in this series?

Review: Waves of Seduction by Cathryn Fox

Waves of Seduction
by Cathryn Fox
(Alluring Tales: Night Moves # 2)

This book was mainly the reason why I found the Alluring Tales series of short stories. And let me state that they do not have the read in order, I'm just being anal about it. They're all by different authors and they are not in any way shape or form related.

Now that being said, Waves of Seduction is an X-Rated version of The Little Mermaid, which just happens to be my favorite Disney movie! I love Ariel.

Artwork by J. Scott Campbell

So Ella is a mermaid and some 15 years ago she saved a teenagers life. From that day she's always remembered that boy and now that she's thirty and her father wants to marry her off, she wants to go in search for that human boy, now a man, before she has to turn her life over to duty.

Liam has been obsessed with his mermaid his whole adult life. And every night he goes out for a swim to try to find her. And now she is there, with legs nonetheless.

Ella and Liam are so hot together! Liam wants to keep her, she just wants one night to have as a memory of her love before going back to her father.

If I can complain about one thing is that it's short. I loved the world this is set in but I think we can hope that there will be another book after this one!

Review: That Voodoo You Do by Myla Jackson

2.5 Feathers
That Voodoo You Do
by Myla Jackson
(Alluring Tales: Night Moves # 1)

I was so excited to have found this little series, or collection of hot short stories being released this month by some authors that I love. Of course, you know me. I have to read in order even when the stories are not related. At least if I can manage it.

So not knowing anything about Myla Jackson I picked this up. I mean who can resist the allure of the supernatural in Louisiana? It started off pretty good. Human rich girl dumps human douche boyfriend after he's being an ass. Enter sexy limo driver who wants to take her anywhere she wants. Great, right?

Except anywhere she wants end up being the middle of the swamp, his home. The home of the panther shifter pack whose land she just bought and plans on starting to drill for oil.

Him and his brother had planned to kidnap her to make her see reason and leave their habitat intact. Well... this is where the story lost me. I rolled my eyes so far I could see the back of my head.

This is a short story, and the main focus of the story is that it's a paranormal erotica. So if we leave it at that, yeah it was hot. But I'm not sure the hot makes up for the fact that the storyline seemed more like I was watching bad porn.

So, no this was not for me. Onto the next story!
