Covers to Covet

Shelly Laurenston's Magnus Pack series is getting a cover makeover!

Pack Challenge

What's an Alpha Male to do when he meets the Alpha Female of his dreams? Step one, hide all sharp objects. All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become Alpha Male of his Pack and be left alone. What he definitely didn't need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it. Sara Morrighan knew this was the best she could expect from her life. Good friends. A nice place to live. And a safe job. But when Zach rode into her small Texas town with his motorcycle club, Sara knew she wanted more. She knew she wanted him. But after one sexy encounter with her dream biker, everything is starting to change. Her body. Her strength. That new thing she's doing with the snarling. Even her best friends are starting to wonder what's going on with her. But this is only the beginning. Sara's about to find out her life was meant for so much more. And Zach's about to find true love with the one woman who makes him absolutely insane. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, and strong violence.

Go Fetch

How much trouble can one small female be to a modern-day shapeshifting Viking? Well, it really depends on local gun laws. Conall Vga-Feilan, direct descendent of Viking shifters, never thought he'd meet a female strong enough to be his mate. He especially didn't think a short, viper-tongued human would ever fit the bill. But Miki Kendrick isn't some average human. With an IQ off the charts and a special skill with weapons of all kinds, Miki brings the big blond pooch to his knees - and keeps him there.

Miki's way too smart to ever believe in love and she knows a guy like Conall could only want one thing from her. But with the Pack's enemies on her tail and a few days stuck alone with the one man who makes her absolutely wild, Miki is about to discover how persistent one Viking wolf can be.

This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

Here Kitty, Kitty

What do you do when you’ve got a hillbilly tiger by the tail? Or maybe the question should be: what wouldn’t you do…

Nikolai Vorislav likes his single life just as it is. Simple, relaxing and quiet. What he doesn’t need is some foul-mouthed Texan hellcat living in his house, eating his food, flirting with his idiot brothers and shooting holes in his home with his granddaddy’s gun. But those long legs, dark eyes and lethal tongue are making Nik insane and he fears he may be caught in the sexiest animal trap ever.

Angelina Santiago doesn’t know how she got from Texas to North Carolina in a night or how she ended up in some hillbilly tiger’s house wearing only a sheet. What she does know is that she doesn’t like good ol’ boys with slow, sexy drawls who can’t seem to stop rubbing up against her. Yet in order to protect her friends, Angie has to stay with a cat who seems hellbent on finding all sorts of delicious ways to make her purr.

ARC Review: Eternal Beast by Laura Wright

4.5 Feathers
 Eternal Beast
by Laura Wright
(Mark of the Vampire # 4)

How to even start this review without sounding like a fangirl......First, let me just make a few points clear:
a) I've been waiting not very patiently for Dillon and Gray to get their book since they first met.
b) Dillon is my favorite heroine in this series.
c) Gray is my favorite hero in this series.

All that could mean I'm totally biased when I say this but... ETERNAL BEAST is the best in the series!   Laura Wright did my two favorite characters justice and gave them an awesome story.  Their relationship has been building for a while now and it's already gone through some ups and downs.  Gray has had a puppy dog love and attraction forever, Dillon has a hard shell to crack.  But not once do they give up on each other (well at least not completely) and they just didn't fight what was obviously between them.

At the end of Eternal Captive we discovered a few things, one of them was that Dillon is a mutore.  She's still a pureblood veana but she's also a jaguar.  When she finds herself almost feral and not able to shift back to human after traumatic events, she finds out that only Gray's touch can help her shift.  She asks, he gives.  He doesn't have to ask, she volunteers.  Aside from what Dillon is I find the new set of characters in this book to be very interesting and I'd love to see more of each one of them.  After all they are family.

I love when a kick ass heroine shows a softer side and that's where Dillon is at in this book.  But she's still funny, flirty and lethal.  And then there's Gray *cue swooning*.  That impure is amazing!  He fights to free his own people, risking even his life for his cause.  He would do whatever is necessary to keep his female at his side.  But he shows Dillon he cares in more ways than just the physical.  And together, well they are perfect!

While this book was heavy on the romance it still managed to tell such a complete story.  And it had me laughing more than once!  New developments in the overall story.  Someone is pregnant, someone's mom comes to visit, the Order is causing havoc, more rescuing is needed at the Paleo.  We get to see others points of view, some of those I just can't wait to read more about.

I did myself a favor this time around and didn't read the teaser at the end for ETERNAL DEMON.  But I can't wait for it!  Now, I'm running to lock Gray in my harem of claimed men.

Even though it's a big early, we have the lovely Laura Wright back with us at UTC and she's brought Lucian as promised last time she stopped by!!  Lucian's book, Eternal Captive, releases February 7.  And you have to mark down your calendars for that one!

5 Hours after the Veracou Ceremony for Alexander/Sara and Nicholas/Kate…

The Lucian Roman Shopping List

I enter the mall with a sneer.

Humans running around after their balas brats, pairs arguing about which store to enter first, males clutching their females purses.
Can’t leave.
Want to.
But can’t.
Thing is, I need shit. I’m setting up camp somewhere. Outside, under the trees, away from all things with two legs. Dammit, just that thought brings two of the hottest pairs of stems known to vampire kind into my addled brain. I should’ve had Alex drain all memories of that veana out of me. Bronwyn. She’s about to mate some unlucky bastard with an obvious penchant for crazy females.
And I’m getting the hell out of town.
Alex and Nicky say I’m running away from home, but they can kiss my albino ass. Both of those two fang fucks are neck deep in the love right now, and I’m chalking up their bullshit comment to brain damage and night and day screwing like rabbits.

So, I’m going into the woods.

I don’t know how long, but until this thing clears up. Could takes weeks, months..

I made a list of the shit I need.

1. Frette Sheets.
*I‘m no pussy, and I don’t sleep all that much – but if I’m stuck in the wilderness and want to lie down, I’m doing it on 600 thread count.

2. Paper Towels.
Can never have too many of these. Yeah, I know. Trees. BITE ME.

3. Full Tang Ninja Sword.
Light, Black, and perfect for small predators.

4. Massage Chair!

Okay, I just came upon this in the front of some store. This thing is HOT. Going inside to ask if it can run on batteries.

5. IPAD and earbuds.

Need my tunes and maybe Internet access. The store is too goddamn bright. My eyes are screaming. Ever hear of dimmers, cockoffs!
p.fucking.s. Massage Chair won’t run on batteries. Bastards.

6. Iron Reaver Finger Claw-Blackend.

You know, for things the Ninja Sword can’t get through. ie: bones, cartilage etc. Not sure if they’re going to have this here. I see they have some store called Coldwater Creek. I’ll check there.

7. Bomber jacket.

Military issue or North Face? And those motorcycle boots – wrap ‘em up! ***Yeah, I know I’m going into wilderness! So the fuck what?

8. Pretzle.

I don’t eat, but that shit smells good!
p.fucking.s. Colderwater Creek was not what I thought it was. Nuff said.

9. Alien Warrior Fantasy Battle Axe.

Shit, have you seen this thing? I think I have a hard on! Total must have. If only for chopping down a tree or two – maybe I’ll make my own papertowels! Take that, greenies!

10. A date.

Goddamn this store.

There’s a photograph of a female in the window wearing some bra and panties shit. She looks a little like She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named – only not even as close to as beautiful.
Where do I get me a date?
The only way to forget one female is to suck vein with another. Right? RIGHT?

Goddamit.

Goddamn that female.

I take off. Run at top speed to the exit and crash through the glass doors.

Humans are watching me, terrified. Balas are watching me, impressed. This is bullshit. The shopping, the woods – not stopping in the arcade for a second to play Mortal Combat. I’m not running away from her, and from HIM. I growl and then I grin. No…no running. Not yet. Not until I get my blood back.
She owes me.
And if HE tries to stop me, his piece of shit blood will just be a motherfucking bonus.

Want to read more about Lucian?

Since feeding her his blood, Lucian Roman has struggled with his obsession with Bronwyn Kettler-fighting an uncontrollable desire to kill her, if he has to, and the vampire she has sworn to wed. But when a dangerous enemy threatens Bronwyn, only Lucian can save her life. Even if it means sacrificing his own...

ARC Review: Eternal Captive by Laura Wright

Eternal Captive
by Laura Wright
(Mark of the Vampire # 3)

Lucian, the rebel.  Lucian, the don't-have-a-care badass.  Lucian, the next in line Breeding Male.  He carries the gene that will likely turn him into the Breeding Male, a mindless creature that will only know and want to mate with any female and impregnate them.  This guarantees he will never have a mate like his brothers.  And also, the transformation shouldn't be happening yet.  He should've had another century to prepare.

But Bronwyn drank from him and activated this process and now his body is slowly going through changes, feeling urges.  Feeling a connection to Bronwyn.  Feeling a deep want.  But he can't allow himself to have her.  That would seal his fate.

So when he hears that she is to be mated to another, that she bears another males' mark, he should be happy.  Except he's not.  And he's not at all happy when she is kidnapped by one of the Beasts and kept captive by Cruen.  Only Lucian can rescue her.  And by doing that he'll be sealing both their fates.

Lucian and Bronwyn worked well as a couple.  Lucian is over the top, loud and arrogant.  He is also one hell of a dirty talker ;)  This might've been extremely helpful to virginal and unsure Bronwyn.  And slowly she lost her inhibitions too.  There wasn't a lot of fighting the attraction coming from this veana.  And she should've had every right to fight it being that she was now facing the Breeding Male, the one creature that had ruined her sister's life and that she swore she would do anything to avoid.

Action and romance packed, with plenty of snark and some hilarious one liners.  This book kept me entertained and dying to see how things could get fixed.  Even though the solution at the end was pretty simple!

And speaking of the end... there's a twist at the end I wasn't expecting.  This will lead into the next book and it will be most interesting.  We also get to know the Beasts a little bit better.  Who are they?  Are they truly controlled by Cruen?  And what is the Orders role in all this?  We'll have to wait and see.

Review: Eternal Blood by Laura Wright

Eternal Blood
by Laura Wright
(Mark of the Vampire # 2.5)

Ever since Eternal Kiss I've wanted to read more about Gray and Dillon.  I think they might be my favorite couple, and they're not even a couple yet!

This short story takes us into the life of Gray, Sara's brother, after Eternal Kiss. Not to be missed as there's a big revelation about Gray and what he is.  And not to be missed because we get another taste for what Dillon and Gray can be together!  Plenty of sexual tension between these two!!  When they finally get together it's going to be amazing!  Of course Dillon is still playing at the I only care about you because of your sister Sara card.

We learn a bit more about the Impures and how it's not all roses in their organization.  I am curious how all these storylines will come into play in Eternal Beast.  Which I'm sure will be my favorite of the series.

I do have to warn you that this story is extremely short.  I wanted a bit more and I was sad that it finished so soon.  However I'm rating it based on how much I liked what I read, not what my expectations on page count were.
