Review: My Liege of Dark Haven by Cherise Sinclair

My Liege of Dark Haven
(Doms of Dark Haven #3)
by Cherise Sinclair

Professor Abigail Berns is under quite a lot of pressure. As the threat of losing her job is upon her, Abby jumps headfirst into her last ditch attempt to save her position. She wants to publish a paper on BDSM, but first, she must find people who live the lifestyle that are willing to let her observe them while they engage in their kink. Though Abigail had a boyfriend who is a Dom, she and him have recently broken up. Left with no other option, Abigail goes to the BDSM club, Dark Haven to finds others who can open her eyes to the BDSM lifestyle a bit more.

There she volunteers to be a receptionist, just so she can get immediate access to the club since the fees are too damn costly. With Abigail’s charm and intelligence, she is able to get this job easily. However, it’s the other part of this job that starts to irk her. When the owner of Dark Haven asks her to assist him in a demonstration, no one is more taken aback than Abby. Though her eyes grow wide in fear, behind that is a spark of fascination and excitement...

My Liege aka Xavier Deluc is still grieving over loss of his wife. Since then, he has distracted himself with other slaves and submissives. However, no one catches his eye like Abigail. Cherise Sinclair does a stellar job with Master Xavier. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I should have known that Sinclair would create such a dominating character who simply demands and holds your attention. I loved every single moment of this book! Sinclair is simply the best in the business. I can see why so many authors in the genre look up to her and rush to read her latest releases as readers do.

Not only does she come up with the most unique and erotic sexual experiences in her books, but she also has the emotion to back it up. It simply isn’t about the physical release in Sinclair’s BDSM, there’s also an emotional catharsis to it as well.

For a special Fourth of July retreat, the Doms of Dark Haven set out to the mountains with Logan and Jake for Hunger Games style game, but for kinksters. The Doms are handed these guns with paint in them so that they can “kill” their subs as they run for their lives. Each color of paint stands for a sexual favor (i.e. brown for anal, etc) So, at the end of the game, whatever color ends up on the sub is the “prize” that the Dom gets to claim. Yeah, I know. Cruel, but unbelievably sexy, right? I’m turning into a puddle just explaining it.

But wait! There’s more! Cherise Sinclair explores so much more BDSM in this book. There’s great use of ointment and fucking machines. Of course, toys are a must! But I think Sinclair manages to keep things fresh without having the sex seem over the top.

MY LIEGE OF DARK HAVEN exceeded my expectations. It takes a lot of talent and hard work to maintain such high consistency in a series but Cherise Sinclair seems to hit it right every time. It’s no wonder why she’s at the very top of my auto buy list for this genre! Simply put, Sinclair will thrill and excite you. Master Xavier is so hot, he’ll leave you breathing fire!

Review: Master of the Mountain by Cherise Sinclair

Master of the Mountain
(Mountain Masters # 1)
by Cherise Sinclair

In the time it takes you to say BDSM, I already finished this book.

If you are looking for an erotica romance author who delivers each and every time you open a book, then Cherise Sinclair is your girl. While the Masters of the Shadowlands may be my favourite series by her, this series Mountain Masters is another great BDSM escape for readers.

Rebecca lets her boyfriend, Matt talk her into taking part in a swingers getaway at a mountain lodge. Feeling unfulfilled in her relationship with Matt, she thinks that this may liven up their relationship and sex life. However, once Becca gets there, she soon realizes that this may not be her scene. She doesn’t like strangers touching her, doesn’t like exchanging partners and doesn’t like the way the lodge owner, Logan keeps looking at her like she’s a feast to be consumed.

Becca was a smart girl whom I really enjoyed reading about. I loved that Cherise kept reminding readers that she was a voluptuous woman with curves and valleys. Though Becca may not see the beauty in herself as she is covered in scars, she doesn’t feel too sorry for herself. She still has that confidence that I liked all my heroines to have. She was smart, sensible and an overall well-written character.

Logan, on the other hand, made my heart trip. I love the Shadowland Doms, but damn, these Mountain Doms know what to do as well! Logan shows the wide-eyed and curious Becca various BDSM techniques, testing her out. What he finds is that Becca isn’t a swinger, but a submissive.

He is damaged by war, experiencing extreme nightmares where he has awakened and injured people, namely his brother, Jake. In an attempt to keep Becca safe and unharmed by him, he pushes Becca away. However, Becca soon realizes that this inexplicable pull between her and her Dom is more than her interest in BDSM. It’s love.

Becca and Logan are great together, explosive even, because the sex scenes between these two are delicious. Cherise Sincalir delivers. Each and every time.

I’m looking forward to Jake’s story, a Dom who is a little more loose compared to his brother. But I won’t expect a less strict Dom because of that. Jake seems like he will be a lot of fun.

Master Simon from Dark Haven seems like another great guy. I cannot wait to read his story as well. He was perfect in this book so reading about him will surely have me begging for more.
