ARC Review: Highlander Reborn by Laura Hunsaker

Highlander Reborn
by Laura Hunsaker

Describe HIGHLANDER REBORN in three words
Angela: Engaging. Primal. Tease

Annie: Temptation. Mysterious. Magical

Laura Hunsaker fuses together her take on vampire mythology with highlander yumminess. What are your thoughts on this?

Annie: Laura puts together two of my favorite things- vampires and highlander. But she does it in a way that is unique and engaging. I wanted to know what Nevin would do when faced with this transformation that he never wanted. Paired with the fact that he is a vampire and a highlander only makes him more interesting...and tempting.

Angela: I thought it was a great idea. The combination of a great warrior as the hero from the highland era with a vampire heroine with a royalty background worked well. I was entranced with Amalia and Nevin's fate to be together despite of their social status.

Readers may want to know... How did you think the book progressed especially since its a short novella?

Annie: I like Laura's voice. It's very concise which makes reading a novella by her enjoyable. HIGHLANDER REBORN is tightly-written and had a believable romance that bloomed wonderfully despite Nevin's initial restraint. I thought that the author created an interesting conflict that was character based but still made it so that Nevin realized he has fallen for Amalia at a pace reader's would believe and accept. That being said, it would be nice to see more from them if future books allow.

Angela: I am not a writer in the least but I have to appreciate the work that is put into any book, short or regular length. However, I am a reader and a reviewer. I want to be honest and say that this novella was not enough for me. I felt Nevin's refusal of his lust and hatred for Amalia to switch to love was a bit fast for me. I do consider that this is a short story and there really isn't enough time for Laura to show that. But after reading this book, I felt very needy for more.

Okay, so this book has a pretty hot panty-melting cover! What were your initial thoughts when you saw it!

Annie: Laura brought me behind the scenes so I got a secret peek at the cover before everything was decided but the first thing I told her when I saw the drafts was, " You picked good, girl. The guy is smokin' " And then I so eloquently expressed that, "I want to sit on his face". Which made Laura spew out her Coke.  That man just does something bad to my ovaries. Also, I'm a fan of the green kilt!

Angela: Well, I have to say that I have been stalking (not really) this model via his photographer Jenn Leblanc. I have seen him as an elf, semi naked, in the lake, dripping wet, as a highlander, etc. I actually saw these proofs before from Jenn and when I saw it on FB for Laura's Book, I was super excited. This guy can rock a book cover and I would read a book just by seeing him in front of it.

ARC Review: Full Blooded by Amanda Carlson

4.5 Feathers
Full Blooded
by Amanda Carlson
(Jessica McClain # 1)

Jessica McClain is one of a kind; a female werewolf the first one ever born unfortunately the rest of her race doesn't view this as a miracle, instead thinking she is the daughter of evil and will destroy their race. Until now though she has been living in relative obscurity under an alias to keep her safe, but her first change hits her and all hell breaks loose as different sects of the supernatural world seem to want to get their hands on her, including the very sexy but extremely dangerous Rourke...

Both myself and Annie wanted to read this after having read the novella Blooded, but I managed to beat Annie down, Jessie style, and grab the book of course I also decided to let her have a peek being a nice girl and all, so here is our combined review!

Describe this book in three words

Annie: I. WANT.MORE.

Suzanne: Action packed mayhem!

What do you think of the newest UF heroine on the block – Jessica McClain?

Annie: I loved Jessica! I thought she was fun and smart without being too snarky or cocky. She was kickass even when she wasn’t fighting and I loved that there is still a lot to learn about her. As the token woman of her pack, she’s going to be in the spotlight a lot. So it will be interesting how she handles it!

Suzanne: I know Annie loved her, and I did like her, I like that she wasn't overplaying the bad ass chick thing all the time and instead was a good balance between attitude and sense. But, I didn't feel like she was anything original or new, she was likable and I will read the next book, but she doesn't stand out in the crowd of heroines that are cram the UF section.

The author, Amanda Carlson said that humor and action are her two biggest passions while writing. What did you think of the balance of humor and action?

Annie: I can definitely see the emphasis on both the humor and the action. There was a great balance that fit Carlson’s writing style. I think Jessica’s character definitely held the most appeal to me in terms of humor. I loved her witty comebacks and spit-fire attitude. And the action? I was blown away by how fast-paced this read was. I finished it almost immediately.

Suzanne: There was definitely a lot of action in this book, which I loved, it kept the book moving at a nice fast pace that had you dying. Ow what would happen next. The humour was good as well, it stopped the book from getting bogged down with blood 'n guts, I especially liked the interactions between Jessica and her wolf, especially when it came to a very sexy werecat.

What are you most looking forward to in the next book?

Annie: I want to learn more about Rourke! That guy is sex on a stick! Hopefully, we get some sexy time too :P

Suzanne: I am 100% with Annie, I want more Roarke, and especially nekkid Roarke *starts panting*

ARC Review: Need by Sherri Hayes

Need
by Sherri Hayes
(Finding Anna # 2)

Describe Need in three words
Suz: Emotional. Sweet. Cliffhanger!!
Angela: Coming of Age story. Sweet and Hope.

How do you feel the relationship between Brianna and Stephen is going? Do you think it is heading in the right direction?
Suz: I am really loving reading how close Brianna and Stephen are getting, it was exactly what I was hoping for! Although I don't like how dependent she is on him, I love that she is able to trust him so deeply after all the horrible things that have happened to her.
Angela: I agree Suz, I love how they have gotten closer and trust definitely began to build up. The point-of-view changes between Brianna and Stephan is great. I felt both their emotions and the progress of their relationship as I read the book.

Lets talk about sex....what did you think about the steam factor in this book?
Suz: What I loved about the first book was that they didn't just jump into bed together straight away, it would have been unrealistic and it would leave e feeling like Stephen had taken advantage of Brianna's vulnerability. But, I definitely thought it was time in this book that they moved to the next level and not only was it super hot, I loved how tender he was towards her whilst also pushing her limits.
Angela: I had a bit of trouble in this department. Although Stephen took his time, I still felt like Brianna’s past would constitute a longer period of celibacy. However, the tension between them definitely increased at the end of the book. Stephan’s gentleness of their coming together was sigh inducing. I know he has more so show Brianna and I can’t wait to see more of their experiences together.

What are you most looking forward to in the next book of the Finding Anna series
Suz: I can't wait for the next book! I can't believe it ended as it did! ARGH! I am mostly looking forward to seeing what happens about 5 seconds after Need ended! I want to see exactly how Brianna got sold as she did. Ms Hayes needs to start writing at warp speed!
Angela: Oh my gosh, the cliffhanger had me flipping the last 2pages making sure that was really the end. My jaw and my heart literally dropped to the floor! I am with you Suz, I’d like to see exactly what happens seconds after the ending of this book.

Do you think this is as good as Slave and would you recommend it to a friend?
Suz: I can't decide if I think this is better then Slave or not. They both had things I liked about them, in Need I liked seeing Brianna healing, but in Slave I really liked their meeting and seeing Stephen coaxing Brianna into trusting him more. But, there is no question, I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.
Angela: I think I enjoyed this book more. I saw Brianna heal and I love seing a hero love an imperfect heroine. But in Slave, I was truly troubled with what happened to Brianna. Her tragic past had me bothered for days after reading that book. It was definitely emotional for me. Both books were amazing to read and will definitely recommend.

ARC Review: Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James

Kissin' Tell
by Lorelei James
Rough Riders #13

How would you describe Kissin' Tell in 3 words?
Fran: Sweet. And. Diiiiiiirtaaaaaay.

Suz: Has Trampoline Sex

Tell McKay...how does he compare with all the other McKay cowboys?

Fran: I seem to have this problem everytime I read a Rough Riders book...Wanting to keep that particular McKay locked in my basement. But with Tell that actually means that he is closely vying for my favorite McKay spot. I have a thing for bad boys so Colt has always been a favorite of mine, then there's Jack who actually isn't a McKay, then Cord because holy hell he's hawt. But Tell has woven his way in there and now my order and priorities is all screwed up from wanting to ... ummmmm.... ok lets leave it at that. I loved him!

Suz: What I really like about the Rough Riders series is that each McKay is really different, the only thing they seem to have in common is their spectacular bedroom skills... must be in the McKay genes! And Tell was completely different from how I expected him to be, he had hidden depth. Although, he isn't my favourite McKay, that special accolade goes to Cord, Kane and Kade I still really liked him, he was could be intense but know how to have fun and he had mad sex skills...I will never look at a trampoline again in the same way.

What did you think of Georgia? Was she worthy of lassoing a McKay male?

Fran: I personally love stories about the geeky guy having a crush on a popular girl and then years after high school they get together. So I started off liking her already because she was never the mean girl. That being said she was ok. She wasn't a wimpy heroine but not too kick ass like I prefer them. But I actually think her personality worked with Tell very well.

Suz: I don't know why...but I never felt like I got that close to Georgia. She seemed nice and I liked that she let Tell bring out the adventurous side in her but I didn't feel any real connection to her like I have with LJ's previous gals.

What did you think of the relationship between Tell and Georgia?

Fran: Talk about some hot chemistry! Between Tells prowess in the bedroom, creative and no-holds-barred imagination and Georgia's open mind to trying anything, never saying no, going for what made her feel good and all her dirrrty talking...well they were amazing in the bedroom. But they actually complemented each other very well in their every day lives as well

Suz: They definitely had sizzling sexual chemistry! And more then that, I loved that they were able to be what the other needed, Georgia needed someone to help her let go and have fun, and Tell needed someone he didn't have to be the joker with.

Overall, what did you think of this installment of the Rough Riders series?

Fran: It was amazing. Sweet and a little kinky, with lots of teenage fantasies fulfilled which were extremely hawt. Probably one of my favorite books in the Rough Riders series. Tell has the perfect balance between sweet man and take charge alpha male, with plenty of game to bring to the ummm table ;) Definitely left me wanting more. And this book also left me wanting more Dalton. Yeah, like I said I have a thing for bad boys and when before he was pissing me off, now he's drawing me in like a fly. But alas, have to get Gavin first, no that I'm complaining. I'm excited and sad at the same time to see this series come to an end. Job well done, Ms. James!

Suz: I liked it! It wasn't my favourite, for some reason I didn't feel the connection with the characters that I have in previous books. But I thought it was good. Tell was one hot cowboy and him and Georgia made a sweet couple. I am now looking forward to Gavin's book, we haven't seen much of him, but that only intrigues me more!

Fran's Fave Quote

Tell dipped up her chin. "You looked good then, but you look even better now."
She said, "Oh really?" as if she didn't believe him.
"Yep. Now I won't worry that I'll break you when I fuck you hard."

Suz's Fave Quote

"I think you broke me. I'm pretty sure I have trampoline burns on my knees and elbows."
"At least you don't have them on your balls," he muttered.

UTC Quote!

"Don't be smug. Now get back under these covers and kiss my butt"

ARC Review: Tangle of Need by Nalini Singh

Tangle of Need
by Nalini Singh
(Psy-Changeling # 11)

Welcome to our review of Tangle of Need, we have such fun doing our chat review Kiss of Snow last time that we decided to do it again! So read ahead at our brilliant and insightful look in to how hot Riaz, Vesic and Kaleb are Tangle of Need!

Suzanne: Hello Franilicious!
Fran: Ummm Suz I dont know about that nickname you gave me there, sounds a bit like anallicious dont know if I want to be called that you know...
Suzanne: If the shoe fits... Lmao!
Fran: lol! Now where's Annie?!?!?!
Suz: Hahaha would be worse if it was Annie's name. Analicious! Lol! Annie wiggle your sexy bottom here!
Annie: hahahah
Suzanne: Heyyy there Analicious!
Fran: See that got her to show up!
Suzanne: Anal always gets peoples attention!

Fran: Tangle of Need girls! Who was excited about this release?
Suzanne: MEEEEE
Annie: I am!
Fran: I was sooo ready for this book. Did you have an interest in Riaz after Kiss of Snow?
Annie: Yes, I wanted to know what would happen to him.
Fran: I thought he was sexy as hell and couldn't wait to see more of his alpha goodness
Suzanne: Honestly....not really! I couldn't remember who he was!!!
Fran: What??? Talk, dark and dangerous!
Suzanne: Lol I am the odd on out! He didnt do it for me....!
Annie: Uh oh *slaps Suz* How could you?!?
Fran: Well Riaz pushed all my buttons before and during this book
Suzanne: He was hot and stuff but he didnt get me going...
Fran: It's okay you have Riley for that.
Suzanne: Lmao! Damn right! I was most excited when Riley was "on screen"
Annie: I wish there was more of him [Riaz} though because I liked his um, determination when he got down 'n durtay
Fran: I have to say personally I wanted to see a lot more of Riaz and Adria.
Suzanne: I didnt! I thought the main story was far more interesting then Riaz and Adria
Fran: They were almost a secondary plot in this book when it should've been about them
Annie: I agree. A lot was going on and I think it displaced some of the attention
Suzanne: This book reminded me of Manny and Payne's (Lover Unleashed) book, the h/H were almost incidental. The story would have flowed just as well without them, they didn't add anything to the plot. They would have been a better novella.
Annie: Yes, Suz! So right! I totally agree

Fran: I loved the true mate stuff and how he didn't let that pull take him away from Adria
Suzanne: Yeah that was sweet.
Annie: I thought Singh did a good job of letting go of Riaz's true mate and making him fall in love with Adria.
Fran: And he was leaving all the little presents for her *awwww*
Suzanne: It was all very sweet, but I got slightly bored when they kept going on about there poor battered, shredded and holey hearts, someone really needed to offer them some indigestion tablets, they would have been right as rain!
Fran: BWHAHAHAHA Suz!
Suzanne: What did you think of Adria?
Fran: I actually liked Adria
Annie: I liked her. I liked her strength.
Fran: Strong and soft
Suzanne: Lol! She sounds like toilet tissue! Yeah she was okay I just wasn't feeling them
Annie: What would you rate the sex scenes?
Suzanne: There should have been more of them!
Fran: Yes I could've used more
Annie: I thought she did great with writing the sexual tension though. Singh is number one when it comes to writing sexual tension. No other can compete.
Suzanne: Yeah, she is good at that.
Fran: But you know there had to be time for the funny moments, I mean come on I LOVED seeing drunk Riley and Hawke talking about pupcats
Annie: OMG I loved that!!!!! Easily my fave part of the book!
Suzanne: Lol! I was thinking cups and pubs lol
Fran: No wait pupcubs? LMAO Suz, is it time to go drinking over there? Cheers!
Annie: LOL Im dying over here hahahaah
Suzanne: No as in Pups + Cubs = Pubs and Cups
Annie: So cute!
Fran: *whispers to Annie...* Suz is having shots while she's talking to us
Suzanne: Tequila only baby!
Annie: Hawke and Sienna did get a lot of air time though. Did you like it or not? Did you think the POV we got from Hawke and Sienna further strengthened their bond and relationship from Kiss of Snow?
Suzanne: I liked Hawke and Sienna parts!
Fran: Yeah, I think this book really solidified the relationship between Hawke and Sienna, you could see how they lived day to day...it was cute, loved the cookie making!

Fran: What do you think about the plot?! Where do you think things are going?
Annie: Honestly, I have no idea. I know big things are coming, but HOW...that's all up to Nalini. She has so many things going on, I can't keep track. She can write 12 more books if she wanted to
Fran: I agree. I know she plans to end things in the next couple of books at least with the original war and the Ghost etc.
Suzanne: It is interesting to see how the Psy are fracturing, if you think of them from the first book...its crazy
Fran: I think it's all very exciting, and we got to see a lot of Vasic!!! Puuurrrrrr
Suzanne: OMG yes! I am so glad you mentioned him!
Fran: Isn't Vasic the hottest thing? I think he's my next hero to drool over and anxiously await a book
Suzanne: I was loving Vasic, I wanted to snuggle him and stroke his hair lol.
Fran: I can picture stroking other things, but you know...
Annie: Wait, who is Vasic again?
Fran: The sexy teleporter
Suzanne: *gasp* Annie how can you say that!? I CLAIM Vasic!
Annie: Ah yes...but I have my eyes set on Kaleb actually
Suzanne: Yes Kaleb, who the frack is he looking for?
Fran:His mate!!!! I'm almost positive he has a Changeling mate
Suzanne: I thought maybe Alice, but I reckon I am wrong now, but I still think human and not Changeling.
Annie: You mean, Kaleb is looking for me.
Fran: LMAO! You think? I think by being a Changeling it would def make him change certain things about his ways.
Suzanne: But he found her in a Psych ward I thought that would mean human.
Fran: I love Kaleb too, I just know he's got to be the Ghost
Annie: I think he is the Ghost too!
Suzanne: I am not too sure, I think it would be too obvious...!
Annie: Speaking of Psych wards...What did you think of all the stuff with Alice? I was a bit bored with those bits, they were slow. Do you think Alice will have someone to love? And who do you think?
Fran: Wouldn't it be crazy if it was Vasic and Alice
Suzanne: A psy I think...maybe Vasic? Lol Fran! Our minds are one!
Annie: That would be awesome! UTC matchmaking!

Suzanne: Who do you think is next?
Annie: KALEB!
Fran: Kaleb for sure
Annie: Mine mine mine
Suzanne: I was thinking Kaleb as well
Fran: Actually maybe not...if he is the Ghost and there's at least two books until the resolution of the Ghost storyline then it has to be someone else before
Suzanne: What about Kenji! He was adorabke!
Annie: Oh look at you, Fran you got your detective hat on!I LOVED KENJI! AWWW
Suzanne: Thats if he [Kaleb] is Ghost...
Fran: Maybe him and Jem next? I want to see how he got that bruise!
Annie: I wouldn't mind reading that book!
Fran: I loved Kenji to. And I do think Kaleb is the Ghost, please pretty please Ms. Singh let him be the Ghost!!!!

Annie: Okay, if you could describe Tangle of Need with two words, what would it be?
Fran: Storyline progress LOL Orrrrrrr hot & funny
Suzanne: Psy Meltdown or even better... VASIC Mine
Annie: I would say...Slow Burn.
Suzanne: Oh oh, or even better... BITE ME...PLEASE. Lol
Fran: LMAO, I def wanted Riaz to bite me, that's for sure!
Suzanne: I want Vasic to bite me
Fran: So what are you looking forward the most in the last part of the series? I can't believe we have to wait another year to see what happens next!!
Annie: Kaleb. I'm looking forward to the part where Kaleb finds me, sweeps me away and we have hot monkey sex
Suzanne: Kalebs book. I want to know about who he is looking for and what happens when he finds Annie LOL!
Fran: Okay so we can all agree on this one: WE WANT KALEB, MORE, NOW, GIMME GIMME GIMME
Annie: Word!
Suzanne: Yep with bells on!

I hope you enjoyed the review as much as we enjoyed making it! I think what we can draw from this is that Nalini Singh has once again written a winner and that our harems are still expanding...!

ARC Review: The Duke's Perfect Wife by Jennifer Ashley

The Duke's Perfect Wife
(Highland Pleasures #4)
by Jennifer Ashley

Describe the book in three words

Suz: I love Hart...hmm or maybe Contains Hot Highlanders!

Annie: HART.IS.MINE.

Suz: ACTUALLY, I think you will find Hart is mine

*tug of war over Hart commences, Suz wins ofcourse, hehehe!*

The cover: Love it or Hate it?

Suz: Not a fan, I think that the other covers are better, especially Cam's book!

Annie: LOVE IT! It’s Paul Marron. In a Kilt. As Hart Mackenzie. Must I go on?

Hart Mackenzie: Sexy Dominant Highland God or Controlling Manipulative Bully?

Suz: Definietly sexy highland god with a nice wide dom streak, I loved that about Hart. I don't think he would be the same if he wasn't quite as manipulative and interfering as he was. You know that it all comes from a place of love, he just wants to protect his family and those he loves and he thinks he is the best man for the job!

Annie: It’s quite obvious what my answer would be to this one. Hart is a Highland god through and through. His dominant tendencies in and out of the bed make him so irresistible! How can you deny a man who knows exactly what he wants and how he wants it? Not only do we see Hart’s dominance and arrogance in this book, but we also see the vulnerable and parental side to him as well. Ashley does a great job of displaying different sides to Hart’s character.

What did you think of Eleanor Ramsey?

Suz: I really like El, I loved her habit of talking on and on and despite having a fairly hard life struggling through poverty, she never whines, she just gets on with it cheerfully. And what I really really loved about her was that she never backed down from Hart and that she was never afraid of him, as deep down she knows she can always trust him. She was a great heroine

Annie: El is my newest favourite historical romance heroine. I loved her spunk and attitude and the way she keeps Hart on his toes. Despite the fact that her family is in an uncomfortable position, she doesn’t allow the burdens of life to dampen her spirits. She’s a fun, flirty gal who knows how to handle a man like Hart Mackenzie and I have to admire that talent. Not many can match someone so bold as a Mackenzie highlander.

Hart and El, were they a match made in heaven?

Suz: I am not normally a fan of rekindled romance, but I do think that El and Hart were a great couple. Hart needed El, she stopped him from becoming a shell, who only have his political ambitions for succor. I did think this book would be hotter then it was. There is some steamy scenes, but I think Cam and Ian's books were far more erotic.

Annie: Absolutely! There’s no question. The chemistry is potent from page one and undeniable throughout the rest of the book. El matches Hart in the way they are both determined to see through certain events until their expected results happen. While I thought the sex scenes would be more steamy and involve ..err...something extra, the love scenes between Hart and El were still fantastic.

The MacKenzie clan has grown from four solitary brothers to a horde of mini Highlanders and their wives, what do you think of the familial relationships and their inclusion in the book and their affect on Hart?

Suz: I think one of the best things about the Highland Pleasures series is the relationship that the four brothers have with eachother. The brotherly bonds are especially strong as they all lived through an abusive childhood, terroized by their father. Hart being the eldest has always protected his brothers, first from their father then from themselves and it has been the keypoint in his life. What was great about this book was it showed the tight connection that Hart and Ian (my two favourite Mackenzies!) had. Hart would do anything for Ian and is almost more like a father then a brother.

Annie:
Actually, one of the biggest reasons why I follow this series is because of the big familial relationships throughout the series. Ian plays a big part of this book and I loved reading about him again. In this book, we see more of Hart’s experiences with his abusive father and the possible fallouts of their actions if Hart didn’t do what he did. I LOVE the fact that Ashley incorporates a different kind of love in her romances. Romantic love is important, but a family is what makes a character's life full.

Any general thoughts on the book, and will you be looking forward to the next one The Seduction of Elliot McBride?

Suz: I loved this book! I have been looking forward to Hart's book since the The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and I wasn't disappointed it was a heartwrenching and emotional book and I can't wait to see what What Ms Ashley has in store for us next.

Annie: YES! After devouring this book, it actually makes me want to go back and read the rest of the series to relive my favourite moments until the next book comes out. I’m actually regretting the fact that I read so quickly.

Any Favourite Quotes?

"We're Mackenzies," Mac said, his gaze steady. "Remember that we break what we touch."

That was what Hart Mackenzie always wanted, she realized. For others to surrender to him, to let him be their master. Not because he wanted to punish them, or to have his own way, but for their own good, beacuse he wanted to take care of them. Those who didn't understand that dashed themselves to bits on him.

“You were supposed to burn this,” Hart said. He couldn’t get up, could not move, drained from what he’d just read.
Eleanor closed the door and came to the table littered with letters. “I couldn’t, somehow.”
He noticed that she did not need to ask which letter he meant. “Why not?”
“I don’t know, really. I supposed, because, of all the people you could have told, you chose to tell me.”
“There was no other person,” Hart said. “No one in the world.”

Review: On The Prowl by Patricia Briggs, Eileen Wilks, Karen Chance and Sunny

On The Prowl
by Patricia Briggs, Eileen Wilks, Karen Chance and Sunny
(Alpha & Omega # 0.5)

Alpha & Omega - 4.5 Feathers

I haven’t read anything by Patricia Briggs in a long time so it was nice to go back to her writing. I forgot how well she writes. Alpha & Omega was a very quick and easy read!  I thought it was a great start to a new series for Briggs! Anna is a werewolf, an Omega to be exact and under desperate circumstances she finds herself calling the Marrok behind her Alpha’s back.

In comes Charles Cornick, Bran’s son. I found myself liking Charles in the short time it took me to read this. He’s protective, but not overly and he’s got some charm too. There was a good bit of action that I was surprised to read about in such a short read, but of course, I’m not complaining. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was Anna. She’s so shy and submissive, but towards the end, I was already feeling like she was developing as a character already.

I’m excited to read the rest of the series! I can’t wait!

Inhuman - 3.5 Feathers

I haven't read any books in the Lupi series, and this one is supposed to be in the middle. I did struggle to understand a few things, however I managed to enjoy this series quite a bit, and has me intrigued to read the actual series. However, I was a bit disappointed with the ending and that is why my rating went down to 3.5 stars. The characters in this story are likable, as you try to figure out the story. I like that Nathan is not your usual "race", I thought that was interesting.

Buying Trouble - 3.5 Feathers

This is the second time I read something by Karen Chance, and it's again a short story. I do like her writing and keep saying I'll pick up one of her books. Maybe soon. There's a bit of everything in this story and I enjoyed it. There's quite a bit of action, families that go against their own, politics of the Fae. One thing that threw me off was when she changed into her "other" form for the first time and out of nowhere at a most inappropriate time! I had to go back and read that to make sure I understood what was happening. LOL I liked the world, I liked the characters.

Mona Lisa Betwining - No rating

I couldn't get past the first few pages in this story. I didn't like that her true love had just died and here she was running around a forest wanting to have sex with another, while she had someone else offering to have sex with her to give her children. Just couldn't finish the story. Maybe if I had read the books in this series it would all make more sense to me, and I'll eventually give them a try.
