Romance Rewind: Sweet series by Maya Banks

ROMANCE REWIND: THE SWEET SERIESMaya Banks dabbles in many subgenres within romance however, if you haven’t read her SWEET series than you are missing out! These hotter than hell books pushes the erotica romance boundaries and make for an interesting and sizzling summer read that we are sure you would enjoy. For a little tease, we are going to show you our favorite panty-melting quotes from each book to entice you further! But be warned, these aren’t for virgin eyes *winks*

SWEET SURRENDER

"And what is it you want?"
His voice, buttery smooth, glided over her body, removing the awkward vulnerability and leaving vague arousal in its stead.
She licked her lips as he walked around the bed to take her other arm.
"I'm waiting," he said as he secured her other hand.
"Control," she said simply. "A man's dominance."

SWEET PERSUASION
“You'll call me Damon. I see no need for dramatic titles. I, on the other hand will call you beautiful, lover, mine. I'll call you mine."
SWEET SEDUCTION

“I’ve tried doing this your way,” he growled. “I’ve tried being patient, understanding, gentle even. I didn’t want to come across as some knuckles-dragging-the-ground Neanderthal because I was afraid you’d run hard in the other direction. Ha! Well, I’m done with that. This time we’re doing it my way.”

SWEET TEMPTATION
“Don’t go easy, Micah. I don’t need you to. Please. I need you to go hard.”
In answer to her plea, he gripped her ass and used his thumbs to part the cheeks. The motion stretched her even tighter around his cock and they both moaned.
“get ready then, baby. I’m going to ride you hard.”
She closed her eyes and began stroking herself again as he rammed into her. Hard, fast, deep.

SWEET POSSESSION

"I want inside you, Lyric," he whispered. "I love your mouth, but I want you in my arms, your body wrapped around mine while I dive so deep that we lose ourselves in each other."

SWEET ADDICTION
He came to a full stop when he saw her. She shivered at the sudden fire in his eyes. Loved how he reacted, loved that she could incite such a reaction from this tightly controlled man.
“Do you have underwear on?”
She lowered her lashes provocatively and murmured a shy, “Yes.”
She watched him from underneath her ashes, knowing he loved it when she played coy. As much as he revered the strong, confident, woman she was, he was turned on when she decided to play the shy virgin.
“Show me.”

Review: Sweet Temptation by Maya Banks

Sweet Temptation
by Maya Banks
(Sweet # 4)

I have been anticipating Micah’s book since the book one and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the route Maya Banks took with this book.

Micah is a sexy Dom who likes to flirt. Going into this book, I was expecting to see more of that charmer personality. However, Banks shows us a different side to Micah. He has lost his wife and his best friend in a car accident and it is such a crushing loss to him because they shared a special relationship and understanding. Though Micah was married to Hannah, he shared his wife his with his best friend, David. When they both died, Micah was left alone and only David’s younger sister knew about the truth of their special relationship.

Years later, Angelina is now an older woman, comfortable with her sexuality and so in a desperate attempt to find Micah again and escape her past, she heads to Houston. Unfortunately, Micah still sees Angelina as David’s younger sister and nearly throws an aneurysm when he sees her at The House being flogged by another man.

Though Angelina constantly pushes Micah, he pushes back and their relationship soon becomes strained. Though I liked reading about the darker side of Micah, I didn’t think that this conflict was fleshed out enough. I would have liked to see a bit more on how they come to understand each other.

In addition to the conflict between Angelina and Micah, there is also a suspense subplot that runs through this book. A stalker is out to get Angelina and now he is threatening her new friends as well. I have to say that I enjoyed this because it brought together the group together and we got to see previous couples return. There are some updates on past couples so it was neat to read about those familiar characters. I especially loved reading about Damon and Serena again.

And lastly, I have to mention how hot this book is! It is scorching-singed-your-fingers-hot! I know some may not be comfortable with the sharing partners deal, but this is Micah we are talking about. He has a past lending his woman to others so I don’t see why that would suddenly change with Angelina. I have to say that out of all the men that Angelina was with Cole was the one who stood out to me. I can’t wait to read about him!

ARC Review: Sweet Addiction by Maya Banks + Giveaway!

Sweet Addiction
(Sweet # 6)
by Maya Banks

Cole Madison has been a character we’ve seen throughout the Sweet series. So I was interested to see what Maya Banks had in store for him. However, I never would have anticipated the events that happened in this book. Banks brings readers another exciting, evocative story that will sure to raise your pulse rate and make your toes curl!

SWEET ADDICTION is written in three parts – Lucas, Cole and then Ren. In each respective section, Banks focuses more on one hero and Ren’s relationship with that person. So for example, the first 100 pages of the book covers Ren’s time with Lucas, the man who she is presently seeing and his happy with. However, when Cole Madison walks back into her life after leaving her for what he believes was for her own good, Ren can’t help but wonder what her life would be like if she was with Cole. Lucas sees this spark in Ren’s eyes when she sees Cole and proposes to hand Ren over to Cole for the duration of two weeks where she becomes Cole’s sole possession. In this time, Ren belongs to Cole and at the end of the two weeks, Ren must decide who she wants to spend her future with.

Already the premise of this book is intriguing, but let me tell you, there is so much more in this book that I could ever hope to share with you all. You really need to read it in order to grasp the emotional depth that Banks has poured into this book.
After reading the first 100 pages of this book (Lucas’s part), I thought, “Wow, Lucas really cares for Ren. They truly belong to each other.” The book could have ended there and I would have given it a 5 star rating. But there was more...
I worried that Cole wouldn’t be able to live up to what Lucas had accomplished already. Lucas was firm, but fair. And in those first 100 pages, I really believed that Ren was happy with Lucas. However, in the next few pages or so, Banks lays out the backstory between Cole and Ren and their time together as young adults so helplessly in love. Cole loves her and he shows her how much in those two weeks by her side. By the end of Cole’s part, I again felt overwhelmed, thinking, “Ren and Cole really do love each other. They truly belong to each other.” Hold on. Wait, wait. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?

Two men. Two incredibly written men. And she has to choose...
My heart is already breaking.

Caught between two men, belonging to both and yet, not really wholly belonging to either one. Ren is placed in an unbearable spot and as I read this book, I found it so difficult to choose between the two because both men are such great people. They both love her and understand her. I am so happy with how the book ended. It was perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing.

In addition to the amazingly written men and the emotional depth, Banks creates a very strong, self-confident heroine in Ren. She is half-Korean and both men adore her Asian attributes. I loved how honest she was and how willing she was to give up control. These men only have control in the bedroom because it was given freely by Ren so seeing her strength throughout this book really made me admire her.

I could go on and on about how much I loved this book, but it won’t mean much unless you pick up SWEET ADDICTION and see for yourself. This book is already on my favorites of 2012 list and I’m sure that there will be some rereads in the near future. It was simply addicting.
