Review: Ballroom Blitz by Lorelei James

Ballroom Blitz
by Lorelei James

If you thought Jon White Feather was hot in WICKED GARDEN, then you'll be blown away and fall madly in love with him in BALLROOM BLITZ.  Gaaaaawwwwwwwd but that is a perfect man!

He is now taking a break from his band and his niece ropes him in to take dance classes with her.  Even though he can play almost any instrument, he has two left feet.  But he agrees to go for his niece, and then continues because of the hot dance instructor.

Maggie and Jon had a case of lust at first sight.  And what an explosive combination of dancing and a hot musician.  Between their private lessons and his concerts, I was completely enthralled in their relationship from beginning to end.  And kept wanting more!

I liked the twist of who Maggie is, she's Billy's sister from WICKED GARDEN.  This brought another level of issues to their relationship and kept things interesting.  I thought it was extremely sweet when Jon brought Maggie around his family.  Their relationship progressed at a perfect pace, even though it was only a short story.

Can't wait to get my next James fix!

Review: Wicked Garden by Lorelei James

Wicked Garden
by Lorelei James

Favorite Author, Lorelei James. Check
Hot menage story. Check
Second chance at love romance. Check

What more can I ask for?  Really?  I got this short story because, quite frankly, I forgot that Lorelei James was in a very hot menage anthology that I wanted to read.  Then I started hearing about her upcoming October 2 title BALLROOM BLITZ, which is a character from this story, and I just had to catch up.

I think this just proves that Lorelei James can write an awesome romance, sexy as hell and panty-melting erotic....without cowboys.  *gasp*  Yes, you read that right.  No cowboys in sight in this wicked garden.

Eden, the teenager, wanted to loose her virginity to Billy.  She loved him then.  But he didn't think he deserved such a gift or such love and he ran.  They both went on with their lives and now Billy comes back into town on business and runs right into Eden, business and personal.

What they couldn't have then, they have now.  Their chemistry was sizzling, but their love for each other was as well.  I could tell they were meant to be together and complemented each other perfectly.  And just when you think there's nothing else that could make this any better, Jon White Feather comes along.

He's a Native American rocker, a celebrity, and Eden's booty call.  That all makes for some hot, threesome  moments.

For a short story, I think the characters are well developed enough that you can still believe their love for each other.  Whether it's Billy and Eden or Eden and Jon.  It all made sense and connected.  And I can't help but to be more than ready to read Jon's story.

EXCERPT

“Son, your father is dying.”

Kyle Gilchrist pulled his cell phone away from his ear, staring at it as if it had grown horns. “Ma. What the hell are you talkin’ about? You’ve always told me I was an immaculate conception. Or that you found me in the cabbage patch. Or that you were hit by a sperm donor truck.”

“Kyle Dean Gilchrist, for once in your life don’t be sarcastic. You need to come back to Wyoming as soon as possible. He wants to see you.”

“Who?” he demanded.

“Your father.”

“All of a sudden I have a father? Who is he?”

“I can’t tell you.” A tiny sigh sounded. “Look. He wants to meet face-to-face . Talk to you in person. Explain a few things.”

Kyle’s resentment flared and he attempted to keep his tone even. “So why didn’t he call me himself if he’s suddenly all fired up to take on his daddy responsibilities to a grown man?”

“He doesn’t feel you two oughta hold this conversation over the phone. Plus, he’s on a respirator.”

“And why should I give two shits about him? Wasn’t like he ever gave a damn about me.”

“Believe it or not, he does care about you. He always has.”

“Why should I believe that?” He couldn’t keep the skepticism from his tone.

She blurted, “He’s leaving you an inheritance and he wants to discuss it with you.”

Kyle’s beer stopped halfway to his mouth. “Come again?”

“He’s leaving you everything: the land, the cattle, the buildings, whatever cash is left over. Everything is yours. He had no other children. You’re his only heir.”

His father. An inheritance. This was beyond surreal. And Kyle had thought last night was an epic mindblower.

“Son? You still there?” his mother said, prompting a response.

The hotel door opened and she sauntered in. His pulse skipped a beat, or seven, as it always did whenever he saw her.

She stopped by the bed and asked, “Kyle? Is everything all right?”

He shook his head, still trying to wrap his brain around the bizarre news.

His mother demanded, “Who’s that with you?”

“My wife,” Kyle drawled, keeping his eyes focused on the woman wearing his ring.

“Your wife? Since when do you get married and not tell me?”

“Don’t go there, Ma. Not when you’ve dropped a bombshell about my alleged father.”

“Who is she?” His mother again demanded an answer.

“I’ll make you a deal: I’ll give you her name if you give me my father’s name.”

Silence.

“That’s what I thought. I’ll be in touch soon. Bye.” He hung up and tossed the phone aside, never breaking eye contact with the woman standing next to him.

“You gonna tell me what that was about? Especially blabbing the my wife part to your mother?”

“You are my wife, and it looks like we’re goin’ to meet the family sooner than we expected.”

“Oh no. Oh hell no.” She cocked her hands on her hips and glared at him. “We both agreed this Vegas marriage was a drunken mistake and we’d get it annulled as soon as possible.”

Kyle gave her a very slow, very thorough once-over, letting the heat in his eyes serve as a reminder of their smokin’-hot  wedding night. “You know, I’ve had time to think, and I don’t wanna get this marriage annulled.” He toasted her with his beer. “So pack your bags, kitten. We’re headed home to Wyoming. Tonight.”

ARC Review: One Night Rodeo by Lorelei James

One Night Rodeo
by Lorelei James
(Blacktop Cowboys # 4)

I have two confessions to make. First, I've been in love with Kyle Gilchrist since I first read Corralled. I guess that had a lot to do with the fact that I saw him as the bad boy in the series. Rough, raw and dirty. And second, I think I may have had a crush on Celia Lawson for almost as long. She's the type of heroine I love to read about!

Of course I've wanted them to have a book since the ending of book one and now here they are. I think I may say this every time after I finish a book in this series but, this is my favorite book in the Blacktop Cowboys series so far....and by far! It wasn't what I expected at all in a way, and it exceeded all my expectations!

I don't really want to ruin the book for you and tell you what happens by doing a recap of the story. I was in for lots of surprises and enjoyed every single one of them. So just let me tell you that I saw a whole new side of Kyle that was sweet and vulnerable and made me want to cuddle up to him and hug him, not just jump his bones until he begged me to stop. Yes, he's still hard ass Kyle, rough and dirty Kyle and very alpha Kyle. But he also showed he can be romantic, a protector, a rock to lean on, understanding, comforting, vulnerable, and hurt.

I had no idea everything he had to go through in his life and for him to be the man he is today after having that in his past, still being positive and a good person...just makes you give him more credit for what he's achieved and the person he's become.

The path that he had to take in this book was both easy and hard at the same time. One day he had nothing and the next he had everything he'd ever wanted. And sometimes, that's not easy to deal with either. People will still make mistakes and things can't be perfect.

But enough about Kyle...lets talk about Celia. Celia was also not what I expected. Yeah she's a tough chick but she's not what she always shows others. She's had issues with her relationship with her brothers that she never brought up before, she's insecure about her looks although she tries to portray an air of confidence. She can be easily hurt and then she holds it in.

I think Kyle was the perfect man to love her from the inside out and the outside in. He loves everything about her and is not afraid to show her. And Celia does the same for him. They are truly the perfect complement to each other. That doesn't mean they are perfect as individuals but that makes them so much better.

Favorite Quotes:
"Oh yes, little wifey mine, we'll be having sex.  Lots and lots of sex.  Sweet sex, raunchy sex, shower sex, sex on the floor, sex against the wall, sex in bed, sex in the truck, sex in the barn, sex on the tractor, and sex on this table." He smacked it hard.
Her silver eyes went wide.
"And in case that wasn't clear, I'll say it plain.  I like sex.  A lot of sex.  Morning, noon and night."

"That tongue of yours is an awesome alarm clock."

ARC Review: Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James

Kissin' Tell
by Lorelei James
Rough Riders #13

How would you describe Kissin' Tell in 3 words?
Fran: Sweet. And. Diiiiiiirtaaaaaay.

Suz: Has Trampoline Sex

Tell McKay...how does he compare with all the other McKay cowboys?

Fran: I seem to have this problem everytime I read a Rough Riders book...Wanting to keep that particular McKay locked in my basement. But with Tell that actually means that he is closely vying for my favorite McKay spot. I have a thing for bad boys so Colt has always been a favorite of mine, then there's Jack who actually isn't a McKay, then Cord because holy hell he's hawt. But Tell has woven his way in there and now my order and priorities is all screwed up from wanting to ... ummmmm.... ok lets leave it at that. I loved him!

Suz: What I really like about the Rough Riders series is that each McKay is really different, the only thing they seem to have in common is their spectacular bedroom skills... must be in the McKay genes! And Tell was completely different from how I expected him to be, he had hidden depth. Although, he isn't my favourite McKay, that special accolade goes to Cord, Kane and Kade I still really liked him, he was could be intense but know how to have fun and he had mad sex skills...I will never look at a trampoline again in the same way.

What did you think of Georgia? Was she worthy of lassoing a McKay male?

Fran: I personally love stories about the geeky guy having a crush on a popular girl and then years after high school they get together. So I started off liking her already because she was never the mean girl. That being said she was ok. She wasn't a wimpy heroine but not too kick ass like I prefer them. But I actually think her personality worked with Tell very well.

Suz: I don't know why...but I never felt like I got that close to Georgia. She seemed nice and I liked that she let Tell bring out the adventurous side in her but I didn't feel any real connection to her like I have with LJ's previous gals.

What did you think of the relationship between Tell and Georgia?

Fran: Talk about some hot chemistry! Between Tells prowess in the bedroom, creative and no-holds-barred imagination and Georgia's open mind to trying anything, never saying no, going for what made her feel good and all her dirrrty talking...well they were amazing in the bedroom. But they actually complemented each other very well in their every day lives as well

Suz: They definitely had sizzling sexual chemistry! And more then that, I loved that they were able to be what the other needed, Georgia needed someone to help her let go and have fun, and Tell needed someone he didn't have to be the joker with.

Overall, what did you think of this installment of the Rough Riders series?

Fran: It was amazing. Sweet and a little kinky, with lots of teenage fantasies fulfilled which were extremely hawt. Probably one of my favorite books in the Rough Riders series. Tell has the perfect balance between sweet man and take charge alpha male, with plenty of game to bring to the ummm table ;) Definitely left me wanting more. And this book also left me wanting more Dalton. Yeah, like I said I have a thing for bad boys and when before he was pissing me off, now he's drawing me in like a fly. But alas, have to get Gavin first, no that I'm complaining. I'm excited and sad at the same time to see this series come to an end. Job well done, Ms. James!

Suz: I liked it! It wasn't my favourite, for some reason I didn't feel the connection with the characters that I have in previous books. But I thought it was good. Tell was one hot cowboy and him and Georgia made a sweet couple. I am now looking forward to Gavin's book, we haven't seen much of him, but that only intrigues me more!

Fran's Fave Quote

Tell dipped up her chin. "You looked good then, but you look even better now."
She said, "Oh really?" as if she didn't believe him.
"Yep. Now I won't worry that I'll break you when I fuck you hard."

Suz's Fave Quote

"I think you broke me. I'm pretty sure I have trampoline burns on my knees and elbows."
"At least you don't have them on your balls," he muttered.

UTC Quote!

"Don't be smug. Now get back under these covers and kiss my butt"

Stetsons and Smexin' with Tell - Kissin' Tell Kick Off Tour

We are heating things up with Lorelei James.  Under the Covers and Guilty Pleasures are hosting the Stetsons & Smexin' with Tell Hop to share the excitement about Lorelei's upcoming release Kissin' Tell.

KISSIN' TELL is the 13th book in the Rough Riders series, and because there might be a few obsessed fans of the series here at UTC we thought it would be great to share with you WHY we love it.

So strap in and buckle up, you are about to embark on a Rough ride and love every single sexy minute of it! To show you how much we love Lorelei James' Rough Riders series we are going to give you six very good reasons to get started on it!

Chugga-Chugga-Chugga... That's right, these boys are the Little (pfft see Will it Fit?) Engine That Could, and they do, many many times! Come rain, shine or an oncoming apocalypse, one thing the McKays will NEVER need is Viagra.

Orgasmaganza What these boys don't know about getting your lady parts quivering, isn't worth knowing. With just a Lick, a Touch and a freaking Look they can have you experiencing the Big O many many times.

Will it Fit? I know I know, and we may sound like a heroine from a Historical, but honestly these guys are heaving around pythons not grass snakes in the trouser department if you know what I mean...so grab some XL Trojans and enjoy the ride!

BOGOF That's right Buy One, Get One Free, Lorelei James is all about economy so where one cowboy goes normally his equally sexy buddy follows, so be prepared for a cowboy sandwich!

Oi! It Ain't All About the Orgasms The McKays may know the secret to multiple orgasms, but it isn't all about that. These cowboys love their ladies deeply and it shows, the Rough Riders series is hot n' sweet and very very delicious.

Y Aren't Ya Reading it Yet? It has everything, hot men, sassy women, sweet romance and more sex then you can shake a stick at, so saddle up and ride!

All of the above equals COWBOY (yes we ARE clever!) Yet another great reason to read this series, who can ever resist a man in with a six pack, a Stetson and that sexy drawl? We certainly can't!

Pre-Order Now!
Order this book from Amazon Order this book from Barnes and Noble

UTC: How is Tell different than other McKays?

Lorelei: Tell is a fun loving guy, he's always up for a good time with his friends. And he loves the ladies but he's never serious about any of them. He tries to make his life about more than being just another McKay rancher.

UTC: Now that the series is coming to an end *cue sobbing from UTC girls* what are some of your future plans? Please tell us there will still be sexy cowboys somewhere!

Lorelei: I'm still writing the Blacktop Cowboys series. And I have more ideas for future books than I have time - but you can pretty much be guaranteed whatever I write will have a western flavor :) I would like to get back to the Wild West Boys and at least finish Ramona West's story and Chet and Remy West's story, but the earliest that'll happen is 2014.

UTC: Looking back at the Rough Riders series, which book would you say you are proudest of?

Lorelei: It's always the last book I finished writing because the books are getting harder to write, rather than easier. You'd think they'd be easier now that I'm 13 books into this family saga, but there is more pressure to make each book different and not write a cookie cutter story.
