Romance Rewind: Looking for your Dream Man?

Romance Rewind: Looking for your Dream Man?

A commando, an undercover agent, a cop and a biker walk in to a bar...I know it sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it is infact the start of Kristen Ashley's agent, a cop and a biker walk in to a bar...I know it sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it is infact the start of Kristen Ashley's agent, a cop and a biker walk in to a bar...I know it sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it is infact the start of Kristen Ashley's agent, a cop and a biker walk in to a bar...I know it sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it is infact the start of Kristen Ashley's agent, a cop and a biker walk in to a bar...I know it sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it is infact the start of Kristen Ashley's Dream Man series. Kristen Ashley's books have become a bit of an obsession for me of late and for VERY good reason; they are awesome. Her Dream Man series is no different choc full of testoterone jacked ALPHA (yes it deserves capitals!) men and the women with the lady balls to take them on it is well worth the read! To entice you to read further, I thought I would go visual, so feast your eyes on the above mentioned ALPHAs!

Nuff said.

Review: Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley

Motorcycle Man
by Kristen Ashley
Dream Man #4

How can I be so sad, yet so unbelievably over the moon at the same time? See what you do to me Ms Ashley... I am a MESS! So let's get the sad out the way so we can get to the happy-happy-joy-joy...this is the last in the Dream Man series *cue sad faces* a series that first led to my rabid obsession with anything Kristen Ashley penned. Choc full of four delicious, testosterone fueled, hunky and sweet alpha males and the four women lucky and sassy enough to take them on (plus Elvira) I am going to miss them all and will just have to content myself with rereads and live in the hopes they make a few cameos in future books.

So on to the over-the-moon feelings...we finally get to see Tack in his full glory and DAYUM but if she didn't leave the best till last. Our Motorcycle Man may have started off as a bit of a dickhead, but reading on it all seemed to be part of the plan. Both Tack and Tyra (who I also LOVED, but I will get to that soon!) changed a little in this book or rather Tyra came out of her shell and Tack although he mishandled her a little at first, once he realized what he had in his hand, he knew he had to protect it and in true KA style that is exactly what he did. And the results were so sweet my teeth still ache.

Tyra. What. A. Chick. I mean if I didn't like her so such I would have to hate her for stealing Tack away from me (hey, don't take my delusions away from me!) I like that she had the courage to tell Tack to go swivel when he had gone too far and just generally give him sass when he needed it. They were such a perfect couple.

They weren't only a perfect couple personality wise, but also chemistry wise as well. I don't if it was just me but this book seemed way hotter then the rest of the Dream Man series. Not that it was drowned in sex, but Tack and Tyra definitely had a lot of sexual tension going on and when they got to it, it was pretty damn explosive!

I pretty much loved everything about this book, and although I am sad it is ending, I am also please that it ended on such a high point.

Review: Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley

3.5 Feathers
Mystery Man
by Kristen Ashley
(Dream Man # 1)

Another Kristen Ashley book, another macho alpha man. Not that I am complaining, if I found one of these men myself you would have to pry me off with a crowbar and some heavy duty tools. Which is why I kind of hate Gwendolyn Kidd, she has not one, not two, but THREE sexy alpha males panting (in a very manly way of course) after her. How is that fair? Of course I am not jealous all the time, especially as her POS sister has managed to drag Gwen in to her trouble leading her to be fire bombed, shot at and kidnapped.

Although this is the first book in the Dream Man series I actually have read this third, so I had heard alot about Hawk, the sexy alpha hero, in the other two books Wild Man and Law Man. Hawk, did not let me down, he was definietly bad ass, and although he isn't a favourite KA hero I think he may be one of the most arrogant and I enjoyed every second reading about him.

At this point, I have the KA formula down, so I know what to expect, but that doesn't stop me from loving every second of the books. They are unashamedly over the top, the men although complete control freaks are also completely perfect and I am completely in love with everything she writes. So although these books to have their faults, they are long winded and sometimes I find her turn of phrase a little odd, I still like to rate these highly on pure enjoyment factor.

So why the 3.5 stars? Mainly because although I liked this one alot, I have liked some of her other books a little but more.

Review: Law Man by Kristen Ashley

Law Man
by Kristen Ashley
Dream Man #3

Mara Hanover has been in love with her neighbour Mitch Lawson for the last four years, he is not only hot but also nice as well, making him a a Ten point Five, way out of her league as only a Two point Five (on a good day) but she has decided to love him from a far. But, one broken tape; a barbeque chicken pizza; two failed dates and a trip to pick up her baby cousins after their dad has passed out drunk and stoned later he doesn't seem to realize she is a Two point Five and seems like he is sticking around.

Despite this being very similar to the Wild Man, I really liked it! Again the heroine is super perfect and the hero is super manly (and perfect) but, I couldn't help but like them, they were so sickeningly sweet together!

My Top Three things/events in the book:

- The Beginning. when Mara doesn't have a clue that Mitch fancies the pants of her. So hilarious when he is fixing her sink and she is all shy, this book starts of fantastically!

- Billie & Billy. They were adorable! Billie was dang cute (then again who isn't cute in these books!). But it was Billy/Bud who got to me the most, his efforts to protect his younger sister even though he is only 9, his desparation to keep Mitch and Mara around, it was both sad and touching.

- Cosmos & Hawk. When Mara gets trashed on cocktails, then meets Hawk and decides he is the second love of her life and wants him to carry her. HILARIOUS.

I am definietly getting addicted to Ms Ashley's books they are over the top, funny, sweet and I can't seem to get enough of them!

Law Man
by Kristen Ashley
Dream Man #2
3.5 Feathers

Good job Tess O'Hara doesn't sleep naked. After being woke up in the middle of the night by the DEA who suspect her or helping out her ex-husband's drug empire, being caught naked would have been the icing on the cake. When she finally escapes though, her horrible night turns into a hellish one when she sees the man she has been dating for four months and thinks she might just be in love with with his DEA badge and realizes he has been playing her.

But Brock Lucas hasn't been playing her, he knew after an hour in her company that Tess had nothing to do with her ex-husbands illegal activities and he is determined to show her that although she may not have known his real name, what they had was very real.

Before I begin, I think y'all need to know that I before I started this review I bought the next book in this series and once I have finished the review I will probably sit and read Law Man in one sitting and then read some more of her books. But having said that I need to get some things about this book off my lovely bosom. It managed to make me love it, and yet annoy the crap out of me all at once! Which, now that I think about it, it was kind of how I felt about Tess and Brock as well.

Now Tess & Brock, what annoyed me about them was how damn perfect they were! Now Tess, my eyes hurt from all the eye rolling I was doing, she was so damn sweet that my teeth ache. For example, Brock's brother comes round and has a go at him for changing stuff like moving from his shitty apartment in a rough neighbourhood and changing careers to a slightly less dangerous one, so when Tess hears this instead of doing the normal thing and telling his brother to piss off and stop being an arsehole, she has a go at Brock for changing himself and his life when he promised her he wouldn't. I mean WTF? It made me laugh and gag at the same time. Not that I didn't like her, I did, maybe I am being mean, but being around that much perfection makes me bitchy! As for Brock...I admit he was hot, he was a little wild and was all about protecting what we his. Okay he may not have evolved from he whole prehistoric, MY WOMAN thing, but I did find it sexy, so I am not complaining (too much).

I also wasn't a massive fan of the writing, it was a little weird things would get repeated for example (and this isn't a quote from the book)

And when he said he liked peanut butter M&Ms he meant he liked peanut butter M&Ms. He wanted to cover his sweet Tess's body with them and nibble them off, as in nibble suck and lick them till all was left was her quivering peanut butter scented body.

I found them repeating what they said in the next sentence a little annoying.

But like I said at the beginning I did like this and I have bought the next one, they were sweet and sexy, and despite the characters being a little OTT, I did have a great time reading about them.

Note to self: Buy some PB M&Ms.
