Review: Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Regret
by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick #7
Sadie Townsend is know as The Ice Princess, cold and efficient she never lets any of her feelings show, even though she longs to get out from under her father and lead her own life. She seizes the oppotunity Hector Chavez presents and starts feeding him information whilst he is undercover. Months later and her father is behind bars, but now she has a new problem with some crazy rivals of her father decides that she belongs to them, the only place she can think to turn to for protection in Nightingale Investigations and Hector, only they turn her down with dire consequences...

This is by far my favourite in the Rock Chick series. Although I loved the others this one really stands out as the best, when I thought about it, the two main reasons I believe it stands out are:

1: Hector & Sadie: There is always a certain amount of resistance from the Rock Chick and although this can be funny it does sometimes leave me wondering what the frick they are thinking. But with Rock Chick Regret Sadie had such heartbreaking and understandable reasons for pushing Hector away, and although you know in the words of the Borg that "Resistance is Futile" you can't help but empathise with her. But, beyond that, they are just a fantastic couple, they fit really well together, both in an emotional and physical way.

2: The Tone: I think the tone of this book was a lot more serious then then others due to the seriously bad shit that had happened to Sadie. The action wasn't as wacky and although I love a little but of wacky action, it was nice to see it toned down a little bit and I think the romance bloomed really nicely because of it.

This book is one of my favourite reads this year, it still had all teh characters I loved from the previous books bit for me it had a little extra that took it from really liking it, to loving it.

Ally's book is next and it is the last book in the series! I really hope it is as good as this one!

Sorry Hank you have been knocked off the top spot and Hector is now my number one Hot Bunch guy!

Review: Rock Chick Reckoning by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Reckoning
by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick #6

After seeing his ex-girlfriend Stella lead singer in a popular local band getting shot at, Mace decides it is time to take the EX out of ex-girlfriend and make her his. Mace broke Stella's heart a year ago and she has no intention of letting him back in...and that's when the bullets start flying and Mace bursts back in to her life intent on getting underneath her skin and into her heart. But after a lifetime of rejection from her family, then a year ago by Mace, Stella isn't going to make it easy...

Another great book by Kristen Ashley, this series is full of laughs and some crazy action and Rock Chick Reckoning is no different. Stella and all the Rock Chicks are under fire and the Hot Bunch take the threat very seriously! What I loved about this book was that we got to see from all the Rock Chicks POVs at some point, it was fantastic, you not only got to catch up with previous couples but you also got to see Mace and Stella from other peoples POV.

There aren't many of the Hot Bunch and the Rock Chicks left now, just Hector, Ally and Darius (although Darius isn't getting a book in this series *sad face*), and I can't wait to see what happens next and what kooky situations they manage to get themselves in!

Hot Bunch "Hotness" Scale

1. Hank- Guy Next Door with an Edge
2. Luke- Silent & Sexy
3. Hector- Wild & Wicked
3. Mace- Intense & Broody
4. Vance- Knicker Meltingly Sexy

Review: Rock Chick Revenge by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Revenge
by Kristen Ashley
(Rock Chick # 5)

Ava walks into Nighingale Investigation for two reasons, (1) looking for help in nailing her best friends dirty cheating husband (2) to see Lucas Stark again, the man she has been in love with since she was a child but hasn't seen in six years, and in those six years she has made a massive ugly duckling transformation. But Ava hates men, after a lifetime of men treating her like crap she wants nothing to do with them, even Luke. But as the danger escalates and Ava gets shot at and kidnapped Luke is having none of it, Ava belongs to him and everyone seems to know it but her.

I cannot beeeeelieve it (yes I can channeling Victor Meldrew) my Luke has been taken from me! I need a minutes silence to help me digest this *holds silence*.....nope still upset. Good job I still have Hector.

I love an Ugly Duckling story, and although we didn't see the transformation, we just saw her six years later all hot and sexy I still felt she was in her old mind set thinking of herself as "Fatty Fatty Four Eyes" and it was sweet to watch Luke make her feel beautiful. What I love about the Hot Bunch is their persistance in the face of the Rock Chicks resistance and Luke was no different and I loved his way of getting to Ava, handcuffs and punishment are apparently very effective tools, the other men left in the Hot Bunch should make note of this.

Another great book in the series, like the others it was funny, zany and just a little bit crazy packed full of characters you won't forget.

Review: Rock Chick Renegade by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Renegade
by Kristen Ashley
(Rock Chick # 4)

Jules job as a social worker isn't just a way to make money, it is her calling, she loves it, and takes it very seriously. So when she sees one of her boys dead in the rubbish after having ODed she makes it her purpose in life to clear the streets of drug dealers. But this is a dangerous endeavor and she is now on the radar of some very dangerous men, but luckily also on Hot Bunch aka Nighingale Investigations radar, especially Vance's. Determined to protect her from the backlash of her actions an falling for her Vance decides in true Hot Bunch style to her HIS.

Another FANTASIC book in the Rock Chick series and another man down in the Hot Bunch *sigh* I guess I will have to be content with day dreaming about just Luke and Hector now!

Rock Chick Renegade has all the great things I love about this series, the crazy adventures, hilarious Rock Chicks and some hot lovin' by one of the Hot Bucnch, Vance, determined to make his woman HIS. Reading this series is a bit like coming to visit your hilariously insane family for a bit and I love every second of it.

There has also been a new guy to add to the Hot Bunch "Hotness" scale! Hector, Eddie's delicious younger brother, with his smoudlering hot looks and aura of danger he has muscles his way into the third position! Yay, go Hector!

Hot Bunch "Hotness" Scale

Review: Rock Chick Redemption by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Redemption
by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick #3

Hank Nightingale is up next in the Hot Bunch for a little romance and although I confess I am little disappointed as in my head Hank and I had already had lots crazy hot, duurty, physically impossible, monkey sex and he'd declared his undying love me. Soooo it was a bit of a shock when I realized that Roxie had stolen his away from me, and I am not bitter. Nuh huh, not AT ALL. Okay maybe just a teeny bit.

Buuut if Hank had to be taken from me *grumbles* I suppose Roxie is okay to do it as she is (so far) my favourite Rock Chick. On the run from a boyfriend that just won't accept they are over she decides to go to Denver and see her Uncle Tex. But as soon as she steps in to Fortnums she is swept away in whirlwind of craziness, but the good kind of crazy. But she is determined to leave, she doesn't want to put her new friends in danger from her crazy ex, especially not Hank, the cop who is determined to help her and claim Roxie as his own.

This is by far my favourite in the Rock Chick series! I loved it! So I have decided to list all the reasons you should read this book:

Roxie: She's a little nutty... Loved her! Like all KA's heroines she was full of heart and little bit goofy and had a thing for clothes and shoes. She was worthy addition to the Rock Chicks and I couldn't imagine being happy giving my Hank to anyone else!

Hank: He's A LOT HAWT... You might have guessed I have a slight crush on Hank. Not only is he sexy and a good guy, he also has an edge of complete badassness that takes him from hot to take-me-now-big-boy HAWT, in the words of Annette...I think I just creamed my knickers.

Oh How I Laughed... I had a grin on my face through most of the book and was laughing flat out at the rest. I love a book that makes me laugh, and this one had me in hysterics, the characters are unique and hilarious and the more I get to know them, the more I love them.

I hope this has convinced you to read this book, or start this series, it really is awesome, funny, romantic and full of emotional goodness, I 100% gurantee it will brighten your day!

I guess now that Hank has been taken I should have a different one of the Hot Bunch front and centre in my day dreaming sooo step right up Luke Stark!

Hot Bunch "Hotness" Scale

1. Hank- Guy Next Door with an Edge
2. Luke- Silent & Sexy
3. Vance- Knicker Meltingly Sexy
4. Mace- Intense & Broody
5. Eddie- Smouldering Mexican Bad Boy
6. Lee- Dashing & Dangerous

My Favourite Hot Bunch Quote

Sitting on the couches, all drinking coffee were a bunch of men. Not just any men. It looked like GQ was having a convention and all the best looking guys had decided to have a coffee at Fortnum's before going to seminars on how to cope with being really, unbelievably, fucking gorgeous .

Review: Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick
by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick #1

Indy Savage has been in love with Lee Nightingale since she was 5 years old. But, after spending her youth constantly throwing herself at him, he tells her he only sees her as a little sister. Now she has spent the last 10 years avoiding him, which is pretty hard,  her best friend is his his sister and his mother practically raised her. But after Indy mouthed off a little at a gun toiting muscle man and gets shot at a little, only Lee seems to know what to do and not only with the gun toiting muscle man. Lee has wanted Indy forever and now is his perfect time to strike after 10 years of her avoiding him.

Another great read from Kristen Ashley! This was a fun and sexy book full of hilarious characters and I will definately be reading the next in the series.

What stands out about Rock Chick compare to the other books I have read by Ms Ashley is the heroine. Indy was hilarious! I loved her, not that I don't like her other heroines, I do, but normally the hero always outshines them with his studly manliness, but in this case Indy's wacky rock chick ways were the highlight of this book, and Lee Nightingale, although studly and manly, was no where near as interesting as Indy.

This was a quite a long book, the great thing about Kristen Ashley is the value for money! ALL her books are pretty long! But this one seemed to have a faster pace then the others as Indy is frequently thrown into hilarious, absurd and dangerous situations.

This was great fun and I highly recommend this if you are looking for a book with a few laughs, a kooky heroine and a sexy alpha male!

Review: Rock Chick Rescue by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Rescue
by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick #2

Jet McAlister the newest employee of Fortnums is completely oblivious to that fact that the super hot cop Eddie Chavez is interested in her. What would he see in plain boring Jet? But then Jet's dead beat dad comes in to town complete with a massive debt and criminals not afraid to threaten and endanger his daughters life to get it. At that point Eddie has had enough, Jet is his and he has had enough with waiting for her to realize it, so admist kidnappings, knife fights and bar brawls he decides to claim her as his own.

Over all I really enjoyed this book, it was funny, action packed, sexy and sweet. The beginning was fantastic and it immediatly pulled me into the story, I really liked Jet and respected her for all teh hard work she puts in for her family, Eddie was smouldering hot and sexy and I think they make a cute and funny couple, my favourite moment has to be when she gets so tongue tied that she implies to Eddie that she is racist (she isn't!) I was in stitches!

But towards the end I felt the book lost its way a bit, although the bady guy part of the book was resolved nicely, I didn't think Eddie and Jet's relationship was, they didn't seem quite together. And it ended so abruptly with them still in the middle of an argument, which neither of them had really backed down from, it was a little strange.

However, let's focus on something else awesome about these books. Tex; former recluse ex con, coffee savant and resident cat sitter. For me he outshines all the other characters in the book, I love him! I think we all need a Tex in our lives. Also the other Rock Chicks, I love that in this series we have some really strong female characters, who I think actually outshine the sexy alpha males. Rock. On!

Although this book was a little disappointing in the way it ended, I am really enjoying this series and I can't wait for Hank's book!

Hot Bunch "Hotness" Scale

1. Hank- Guy Next Door with an Edge
2. Vance- Knicker Meltingly Sexy
3. Mace- Intense & Broody
4. Eddie- Smouldering Mexican Bad Boy
5. Lee- Dashing & Dangerous
