Review: Jared by Cat Johnson

Jared
by Cat Johnson
(Red, Hot & Blue # 4)

I'm really not sure how this series turned into sexy military men out of uniform into hot sexy cowboys that I just have to drool over, but I've been drooling over Jared for a few books now and let me tell you, he is one hot cowboy!

He's the brother that stayed back to work the family ranch when his brothers went off to the military.  He's been happy with that but he's also had a lot of responsibilities.  Mandy is rolling into town looking for the perfect small town to film for her idea of a reality TV show.  Pigeon Hollow fits the bill.  And of course, convincing the Gordon brothers to let her film at his ranch sounds like a great business idea.

And although she's never mixed business and pleasure, she might have to in order to have Jared.  And there is some hot sex in this one!  As far as the sexy time goes this book is definitely the best in the series.

And then there's the small town feel, and the great secondary characters.  Can I just say I'm so intrigued by Jared's best friend, Bobby.  Bobby is the town sheriff and he'll be getting his book soon in the series.  Can't wait.

Review: Jimmy by Cat Johnson

Jimmy
by Cat Johnson
(Red, Hot & Blue # 3)

Sexy as hell Jimmy was working an assignment at a high society party, pretending to be a waiter.  Of course he caught the attention of the object of his lust at the party.  A beautiful redhead that he just couldn't resist.  She's not shy either and by the end of the night they are both at an exclusive hotel spending the night getting hot and naked under the sheets.

What happened after was not what Jimmy had planned.  He got called in for another assignment and thrown in what would then become a nightmare for him and his team had to come rescue him.  He didn't come back the same.  But throughout all that, the only person he could think about was Lia.

Imagine his surprise when the governor's daughter ends up coming to his family's ranch and he comes face to face with the girl who has haunted his dreams for months.  Once he explains why he never called they are right back on the saddle.

Jimmy is hot, he's everything you'd ever want to get in a cowboy in a uniform ;)  And Lia is more than just a rich society girl.  I loved these two together and how she was there BEFORE what happened to him, even if it was in such a small way.

Review: Jack by Cat Johnson

Jack
by Cat Johnson
(Red, Hot & Blue # 2)

I had a soft spot for Jack since the first book when we saw him getting his heart broken by his long time crush.  Then his brother was in a pretty life and death situation and Jack's team finally rescued him.  So after all that Jack goes back home.  Other than being a military men, he's also a cowboy.  Ohhhh the perfection!

Nicki is actually the daughter of a mobster and she's been on the run and hiding for a while.  What better place to hide than as a farm hand for Gordon Equine.  But then she starts falling for Jack.

I have to say this book was a bit light on everything.  The connection between Jack and Nicki was there and sweet, however the suspense element was almost non-existent really in this story.  And then there's the sexual frustration you will probably get reading this.  Jack, my poor sexy cowboy, got nothing but blue balls.  But that's ok, it did work out with the story that they took their time.  I just wish maybe the story would've been a little longer and we would've seen them getting together at least once.

I guess I'm a bit disappointed because I expected an over the top wonderful HEA for Jack and it was a very low key romance.  I'm not sure I think Jimmy is ready to get his book next, but lets bring it!  I can't wait to read about this tortured hero.

Review: Trey by Cat Johnson

3.5 Feathers
Trey
by Cat Johnson
(Red, Hot & Blue # 1)

Military men can sometimes become jaded since they have seen and done so much.  Trey is a bit like that but he has a best friend that still is fun and flirty and hopeful about life.

Jack has been crushing on Carly, the bartender at the local club him and Trey have been going to when they are home from assignment.  Jack has been trying to get her to pay attention to him without any success.  Trey has always been the silent partner, not interfering but somehow paying attention to the details.  And, maybe not consciously, wanting and falling for Carly right along Jack.

Then they are both called back in for a very important mission.  Jack's brother, Jimmy's cover was blow while on a very important mission and now Trey needs to go in to not only rescue Jimmy but bring down the bad guy.  It's a matter on national security and the success of their operation.

But they need a woman to complete Trey's cover while going in and Carly fits the bill.  So while they play at being husband and wife and try to fulfill their duties, they are also faced with their true attraction and things they've both wanted for a while.

This was a short story and I loved the characters Ms. Johnson introduced us.  This may not have been the perfect setup story for Trey and Carly to get together in my mind and of course I was thinking about Jack getting hurt the whole time, which interfered with my enjoyment of this.  But that's life and yes Trey and Carly worked together perfectly.  Now I just hope that Jack gets the same HEA, the great one he deserves.
