Review: Let Me Be The One by Bella Andre

Let Me Be The One
(Sullivans #6)
by Bella Andre

As teenagers, Vicki and Ryan were inseparable. However, whatever romantic feelings they had for each other were held under tight wraps for fear that one wrong move could tear their friendship apart. For a long while, their friendship kept them in touch over the years, but after fifteen years of not seeing each other, Vicki asks a major favor from Ryan in a moment of panic.

As a talented artist, Vicki makes stunning works of art with her hands. Her latest endeavour involves a fellowship that would either make or break her career. However, a pushy and very hands-on mentor wishes to get too close to Vicki, causing her to call in Ryan to pretend to be her boyfriend for the time being. Sliding into boyfriend mode is easy for Ryan when he sees just how much this guy is taking advantage of Vicki, but keeping it cool, Ryan plays the part well until he can get Vicki alone and ask her what is really going on.

Turns out that the people Vicki needs to work with wish to take advantage of her. But now that Ryan is there, he can keep tabs on her. As their lives collide once again, sexual tension sizzles and scorches the pages of the book. I kid you not, Bella Andre set this book on fire!

Ryan Sullivan has been mentioned a few times in the past books of the series, but I had absolutely no idea that he would be so damn sexy. I have added each and every hero in this series to my harem list, but damn, Ryan Sullivan needs to have his own category! He blew me away and I don’t think I ever got my breath back.

In a rush of need, I devoured this book in just a few hours, stopping only to text, Bells from Hanging with Bells about “the champagne line scene” and how “perfect and sexy” Ryan is. And those are just the texts I can show the public! To entice you further, here’s just one of the unbelievably sexy lines Ryan has:
“This is how I want you, Vicky. Open to me. Ready for me. Always.”
But perhaps my favorite quote of the entire book is...
 “I wore you out.”
Oh Lord, you have no idea.

Bella Andre hit this book right out of the park! An absolute home-run! I cannot get over how enjoyable and thrillingly sexy this book was. LET ME BE THE ONE has shot straight to the top of my favorite books this year. I am so glad I found this series and if you haven’t read Andre yet, you are seriously missing out! Andre will shock you, make you laugh, turn you on with her incredibly seductive heroes and of course, make you fall in love with each book! Definitely an auto-buy author for me!

P.S. Smith’s story, COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER will release this winter. I.CAN’T.WAIT.

Review: If You Were Mine by Bella Andre

If You Were Mine
(Sullivans #5)
by Bella Andre

Dear Mrs. Andre,

You really must stop this. I can’t believe I am saying this but, you need to stop making your heroes so damn sexy! I don’t have enough space in my hottie harem and I have always said I would never do brothers, let alone four of them (plus Jake!) But when you make your heroes as irresistible as Zach, I fall prey to your every whim and now I am eating my words. What’s one more Sullivan in my harem, right? Hell, I might as well claim them all!

Love, Ann

IF YOU WERE MINE takes readers back into the lives of the family we have come to love. This time we follow Zach Sullivan, the mogul mechanic, sweet-talker and all around panty-melter. As the hands-down most hottest of the Sullivan brothers, Zach is used to getting attention from the ladies. He has it all – the money, the good looks and the fancy cars. But when Heather Lindsey walks into his life, Zach finds the one thing his perfect life is missing...

Zach is on babysitting duty for his brother-in-law’s puppy. The small and unsuspecting Yorkie is the devil in disguise and unfortunately for Zach, Cuddles is stuck with him for two weeks. So while Zach tries his best to keep Cuddles out of his garage and his way, Heather drops in to teach the big boss how to handle a puppy.

When Zach meets the new dog trainer Heather, he is taken aback by her beauty and knows that soon, he will have her eating out of the palm of his hand. Unfortunately, Heather is the one is doing the talk-to-the-hand gesture because she knows all about Zach Sullivan and his reputation with the ladies. And to protect her heart, Heather knows it’s best to stay away. Despite the barriers she has walled around her, Zach’s relentless determination has her grasping for control because day by day, Heather learns more about Zach and fears that she is falling for him.

Andre has another winner on her hands! I wasn’t sure how she would be able to top the last two books (both of which were my favorites of the series), but she has. Zach Sullivan definitely has what it takes to be crowned the hottest Sullivan. His possessiveness, determination and unexpected vulnerability made me love him completely. But it was his charm that really made me fall in love with Zach. Unlike the other Sullivans, he is great at the witty banter and I guess it helps whenever he does that slow smile that makes the ladies burn.

Zach was easy to love, but Heather also had a lot of emotional depth to her. We learn of her past and the not so bright moments of that time in her life. Her parents are together, but unhappy and that reflects back on how Heather sees men and relationships. The question is, whether or not she will allow Zach to help her overcome those fears and feel safe with him.

Their love develops slowly, but it is satisfying because at the end of the book, you feel as if both of them have crossed oceans to get where they are supposed to be. I loved every moment of this book and only wished there was more to devour.

Andre is a master storyteller, weaving together the lives of two characters who simple don’t know the meaning of love...until they meet each other. Loved it!

Review: I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre

I Only Have Eyes For You
(Sullivans # 4)
by Bella Andre

Since the first book of this series, Bella Andre has got me hooked on this over-achieving, fun-loving family. Every book has got me dreamy-eyed because I can’t help but fall in love with each of the Sullivan men.

In Bella Andre’s latest release, I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU, we get the first story from one of the twin girls, Sophie. Out of the two, Sophie is known as the nice one. She’s the level-headed, sensible and sweet librarian who everyone wants to protect. She’s a romantic at heart so after years of pining after her family’s childhood friend, Jake McCann, Sophie makes an effort to show Jake everything that he has been missing.

Jake is known as the ninth Sullivan. He has been a family friend for so long that many of the Sullivan men consider him a brother. However, Sophie doesn’t see Jake as the older brother he tries to be for her. Instead, the nice girl wants to be naughty...

I fell in love with Gabe Sullivan in the last book and worried that Irishman Jake wouldn’t live up because he simply wasn’t a Sullivan. WOW, was I wrong! There is so much more to Jake McCann than I could ever anticipate. Bella Andre delved into his character so deep that countless times throughout this book, I wanted to cry. Jake simply broke my heart.

This book was a roller coaster ride of emotions – I pined right alongside Sophie, I grew angry and frustrated like Jake, I cried when their hearts shattered and I rejoiced when true love prevailed. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better from the last book, I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU comes along and proved me completely wrong. This is definitely one of my favorite books of 2012.

Possibly my favourite thing about this series is that it is focuses on not just the romantic relationship, but also on  family. I just adore family-based series. However, there is one other thing I may love more....and that is hot sex – and guess what, this book has that too!

So make room, Gabe Sullivan, because Jake McCann is the newest member of my hottie harem!

Review: From This Moment On by Bella Andre

(more like 4.5 feathers)
From This Moment On
(Sullivans # 2)
by Bella Andre

Marcus, the eldest of the Sullivan brothers and the winery owner dreams of settling down with a lovely wife and having kids. In FROM THIS MOMENT ON, Marcus’s dreams are shattered once he finds his girlfriend screwing another guy. She wants to leave him, telling him that their relationship was falling apart, that Marcus never ever fought for her. A girl wants to be cherished and loved. Too bad Marcus doesn’t actually love her.

In an attempt to forget her betrayal, Marcus goes to a club to find a woman to spend the night with. A one night stand is just what he needs. No commitments, no promises, just physical release.

But then Nicola walks into the club in a form-fitting leather dress and steals his breath. She dazzles him and him and Nicola hit it off. They exit the club together, planning to spend the rest of the night between the sheets. But their one night stand doesn’t go as planned.

A night meant for hot sex and oblivion turns into a night that neither of them can forget.

Marcus doesn’t know that Nicola is a musical pop star who goes by the name of Nico. When her sister, Lori aka Naughty asks him to spend the day with her at her work, Marcus finds out that Lori is actually the choreographer for Nico. Neither is able to escape this undeniable attraction for one another.

Unchained sensuality laces this book. Who would have thought that Marcus Sullivan, the dapper businessman could be so deliciously sinful in the bedroom? I was surprised and thoroughly enjoyed reading about Marcus and Nicola. This series just keeps getting better and better.

Another great thing about this book is the presence of the other Sullivans. I adored Lori and can’t wait to read her story! Those phone calls with that certain someone really made me want to know what her story is. Another Sullivan I’m interested in reading about is Smith, the movie star of the family. He provided great comic relief in tense times and I just loved that he wasn’t afraid to stand up to Marcus, his older brother.

Bella Andre has a great series on her hands and with several more stories to be told, I know I’ll be one of those eagerly awaiting the next release.

Review: The Look of Love by Bella Andre

The Look of Love
(Sullivans # 1)
by Bella Andre

THE LOOK OF LOVE is the first book in the Sullivan’s series and I think Bella Andre has a hit on her hands. Not only are the characters very likeable and engaging, but they hold a certain appeal that makes you respect them and their choices.

In the midst of a storm, Chase Sullivan, the photographer finds Chloe on the side of the road. Thinking he’s doing a good deed, he pulls over and tries to help this woman who is drenched to the bone and is sporting a shiner. Instead of pressing the issue, he convinces her to get in his car so he can drive her to his brother’s winery to stay the night.

Chloe has her heart shielded like a prison. It seems like nothing will get past her ward. However, Chase has this uncanny ability to tease her, making her feel safe in the shelter of his arms. He doesn’t try to push her. Instead, he coaxes her slowly with a lethal seduction that will end in Chloe’s complete surrender.

Bella Andre really amps up the sexual tension in this book. There are numerous scenes that made my palm sweat and heart beat a little faster. While the sex scenes between Chloe and Chase were wonderfully creative, I thought there were some cases where it was cut off in when I wanted it to go on. This is a testament to Andre’s writing. She makes me want more.

Another thing I wanted to mention is the fact that Andre’s voice works really well for hot contemporary romance. So much so that I think she’ll be one of my go-to authors when I need a contemporary romance fix. And this Sullivan series has become one of my favourites!

The reason being is that Andre creates characters that feel larger than life. Marcus, the winery owner and brother to Chase made a lasting impression on me that made me eager to start his book right after this one. When an author is able to present characters to readers and make us fall in love with them within one book, then I know that this will be a series that I will be following. Andre creates distinct personalities while still keeping that Sullivan trademark about them. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the Sullivans!

Review: Can't Help Falling in Love by Bella Andre

Can't Help Falling in Love
(Sullivans # 3)
by Bella Andre

Megan Harris and her daughter, Summer are caught in an apartment fire and seek safety in a bathtub as fire, smoke and debris surround them. Huddled together, Megan covering her child with her body is how Gabe, the firefighter of the Sullivan family finds them.

But despite the obvious reasons to be scared and distraught, he sees these two fire victims and immediately admires Megan’s strength and courage in such a situation. Putting her daughter’s needs before hers, Megan walks on her own two feet to escape the fire that almost stole their lives.

Gabe is astounded, never witnessing such a show of strength from a woman before. However, just as he gets the mother and daughter out of the fire and into safe quarters, a beam hits him upon the head and knocks him out.

Megan owes her life, and more importantly, the life of her daughter’s to this firefighter, so when she learns that he had been injured while risking his own life to save theirs, she goes to see him in the hospital. Sparks fly and chemistry ignites. There is nothing half-measured in a Bella Andre book.

I was pretty impressed by how Ms. Andre captured my attentions in this book. From the very first page, I was hooked by the suspense and action, the thrill of the hero and the sensitivity and emotional aspect to the storyline.

Megan has had a hard past. Her husband died in a plane accident, so now living with Summer and raising her on her own is a challenge that Megan finds difficult, but also rewarding. But it is for this reason that Megan is so hesitant to open her heart fully to Gabe. His job requires him to put his life in danger each day and Megan’s heart can’t accept the fact that he may never come back home to her.

Traveling this distance takes time and I think Ms. Andre did a great job of showing that emotional journey for Megan. There were instances where the author mentions tiny bits of earlier in the book and I was surprised to think how long ago it felt because so much happens emotionally in this book that you wonder how Megan could come so far from where she was in the beginning of the book.

What I really loved about Megan was the fact that although she wasn’t sure about Gabe and how their relationship could work, she was still sure of herself.

This quote displays this perfectly:
“You can’t date my brother,” he growled. “Any of my brothers.”
“What are you talking about?”
He advanced on her even as she backed up to get away from him. “Zach. He went to your house on Sunday.”
“He fixed my flat tire.”
“I’ll bet that’s not all he wants to fix.” He had her almost pinned against the wall by then. “He’s going to ask you out. The answer is no.”
Surprise turned to outrage in a flash of her green eyes. Instead of continuing to retreat, she was the one advancing on him this time. “I’ll say yes if I want to.”

Resisting Gabe is a hard task, but Megan has been burned many times in the past. Despite that, she’s still a strong woman who guards her heart well and does what she can to protect her daughter, Summer. I have to respect that.

That quote also displays another thing I just had to include in this review. Gabe Sullivan – the newest addition to my hottie harem. Wow, I adored Gabe! He was the perfect blend of the good guy, the real-life firefighting hero and the downright sexy Sullivan that he is while not on the job.

Megan and Gabe sizzle off the pages, getting down and dirty in some pages while lifting spirits and creating laughter in others.

Here’s just a taste of what to expect...

“Show me, Megan,” he said in a husky voice. “Show me how you like to be touched.”

Now if that doesn’t make you want to go out and grab this book, then I don’t know what else to say to convince you. This book really had it all. Family, friends, love and passion. I adored everything about this book!
