ARC Review: Chosen by Sable Grace

3.5 Feathers
Chosen
by Sable Grace
(Dark Breed # 3)

Kyana is once again in the fight of her life, to save the world from Cronos, the evil god of Olympus. Since rising from the dead, Cronos has built an army and his plan to take over Olympus and the world is in full effect. With Kyana being a full goddess now, she finds it hard to learn how to fight with her new magic instead of her fists. She must think and organize and make sure her people are safe. Kyana is no longer in the midst of battle, but the one giving orders. And with the impending battle coming to Olympus, she needs to perfect her skills in order to win the war.

As opposed to Kyana in Ascension, the bad ass shoot first ask questions later, the new Kyana, goddess of the hunt, is more rational. Kyana still has her edge, but it’s been smoothed out a bit by responsibilities and Ryker. She realizes she not only has herself to fight for, but for the people she has grown to love.

Kyana is not the only one finding it hard to go through this transition, Ryker is as well. Being Zeus, the god of gods keeps him from being on the battle field as well. The cute thing is they go through this together. The both of them get to know each other on a deeper level. Gone are the days where they would get together and bang on a counter covered in blood and grime, these days they are making love on their beds with an occasional rendezvous here and there. Kyana and Ryker have grown up, which is sweet and gave me butterflies in my tummy. At one point I was telling Ryker I loved him and swore to Kyana that I would take him away if she didn’t give him what he deserved. It was then that I realized why my husband was laughing at me.

Although Chosen wasn’t as fast paced as Ascension, I still loved it and felt it wrapped up the story very nicely. I do recommend reading these books in order so you can get the full effect this series has to offer. Well done!

Review: Bedeviled by Sable Grace

Bedeviled
by Sable Grace
(Dark Breed # 2)

Bedeviled starts right where Ascension left off, with Kyana at a major crossroads:

In an attempt to save the life of her best friend and witch, Haven, Kyana committed a crime punishable by the gods; she bit Haven creating the first Witch/Vampyre/Lychen, a deadly combination to the world, and the perfect body for Cronos, the evil god of gods, to possess. By using Haven as his puppet, Cronos terrorizes Above and Below to find all the elements he needs to fully rise from the dead. Now Kyana has 7 days to stop Haven(from what) before she becomes Artemis, The Goddess of the Hunt, and loses her Vampyre/Lychen ability for good.

As if saving the world isn’t enough, Kyana has to face her feelings with Ryker. He’s hotter, sexier and sweeter than ever in this book. He sacrifices anything and everything to help Kyana and proves himself time and time again that he’s not going anywhere.

With Cronos plotting his revenge to take over Olympus to become the one true god, Kyana is faced with the worst decision she has had to make in her life, kill her best friend to save the world, or spare her life and face the consequences of Cronos coming back from the dead and taking over. Will she be able to save the world, her friend, her love life and become Artemis?

Bedeviled has action, steamy sex scenes, a badass not to mention hot god and a kick ass heroine. Is there anything else you need? Not likely.

Review: Ascension by Sable Grace

4.5 Feathers
Ascension
by Sable Grace
(Dark Breed # 1)

When the gates of hell are unlocked, the world falls under attack by Dark Breeds and it is The Order’s job to protect each species in this world. When they realize they can’t do it alone, they call upon their most qualified member, Kyana.

Kyana is half Vampyre, half Lychen and in her world, she’s considered an abomination. But instead of living up to all the stereotypes of what everyone thinks she is, she gained control of her beasts and did something good with it by becoming the best Tracer for The Order. Not only is she the best, but, Kyana is a baaaadd bitch! She’s a shoot first; ask questions last type of heroine. She’s a leather wearing, beat your ass into next week heroine. I just LOVE bad ass heroines.

Now Kyana is asked to save the world and in doing so she is paired up with Ryker. Ryker is a well-built, blond hair, tanned, demi-god who is charged with helping Kyana save the world, only problem is they have history. And Kyana is not at all happy about working with the man who rejected her “open invitation” years ago. And what’s even worse? The two of them haven’t gotten over each other one bit.

With their pasts between them, Kyana and Ryker must learn to co-exist in order to get through the task at hand but as the days go by they find themselves being pulled together by the connection they shared years ago. Will they be able to save the world and what could possibly be between them?

Ascension is the first book in the Dark Breed series and has all the elements of a great Urban Fantasy. It has been a while since a series has grabbed me by the bra strap and spanked me sideways. From the very first page you’re thrown into action packed scenes. You can’t help but be pulled into this world full of different types of paranormal beings. If you’re into Vamps, Lychens (wolves), witches and Greek Mythology with a twist, then, what are you waiting for?

THIS EBOOK IS ONLY $0.99! Don't miss out!
