The Goddess Test
by Aimee Carter
(Goddess Test # 1)
I've
always had a crazy obsession with Mythology, and when I was told about
this book I was really excited seeing as how it pays homage to one of my
favorite myths of Persephone. We all know the story of Hades and
Persephone, but Aimee Carter put a twist in the story that leaves you
wanting more. I was hooked from the very beginning, the Prologue grabs
you and leave you wanting to continue.
Four Years ago Kates mother was diagnosed with Cancer,as a last request her mother asks Kate to drive to her hometown where she can live her last days out.I have to say I liked Kate, she was a strong heroine, all her actions were selfless. Even after being betrayed she was calm and collected. While living in Eden, Kate ends up falling victim to a vicious prank and here is where she meets Henry. Henry offers Kate a deal she can't refuse, take the Goddess Test and her mother can live a little longer. Kate agrees to the deal not knowing that she just made a deal with Hades The God of the Underworld!!!!!
Henry Henry Henry, when I think of Hades I don't think of a tall, Dark, and Handsome guy. I think of a ugly, bald, and creepy guy lol. Losing the love of his life is hard for Henry. Looking for the one person who he can spend the rest of his immortality with seems to be difficult and he's about to give up,until he meets Kates. I love how their relationship develops, it doesn't take them a week to fall in love and live happily ever after.
Over all I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who love a twist in Mythology!!

“I care," he said in a trembling voice. "I care so much that I do not know how to tell you without it seeming inconsequential compared to how I feel. Even if I am distant at times and seem as if I do not want to be with you, it is only because this scares me, too.”
